Happy Halloween!!

Amps is 308 today. He may have gone lower last night but this cold and is kicking my butt and I couldn’t stay up any longer to test.

I’m going to work for a few hours today and then coming home and going back to bed! This cold is awful!

Hope everyone has a happy Halloween and happy Thursday!

Sarah, I remember you saying you loved Halloween, so sorry you're not feeling well. Come back home as soon as you can and let Blaze take care of you. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
I do love Halloween, it’s my favorite holiday! I’m dressing up as a “crazy cat lady” for work today, so at least I’m going in for a half day so I can dress up. I will post pictures later. Thank you Soni!:bighug:

Good morning , Sarah :bighug: Sending more healing prayers and YES , we need pics of Crazy Cat Lady :woot: Keep taking care of yourself, even after you start feeling stronger .❤️

Happy Halloween from this crazy cat lady!!

OMG! That's so cute!!! IS that what a crazy cat lady looks like?? LOL!!:p

I'm so sorry to hear that ole nasty cold is kicking your butt...I hate those darn things...they can do so many things medically these days, but no cure for the common cold...those nasty viruses keep morphing into different and new monsters to attack us...try to rest as much as you can...I'm not sure - of course - without a late night test - but from the looks of his numbers he may just be holding his own - a little high - but it sorta looks fairly consistent right now...not bouncie...

Hope you feel better! And I hope you get to enjoy Halloween tonight with Blaze. Hang in there and have a good evening!!:bighug:

I’m wondering if he needs an increase? Maybe give him tonight on 1.5U and then tomorrow morning, give an increase. Any thoughts? I’m not sure if today is a bounce after last nights yellow +2, he may have gone lower but I couldn’t stay up longer to test, with being sick and exhausted from fighting this cold.

My response is the same as last week - since I can't remember your schedule; if you're going to be home to test and IF you're feeling up to being up late (possibly) tomorrow night then yes, I would agree with an increase. On your SLGS protocol I believe you've met the number of cycles between an increase and you only saw one visit to the lagoon. I'd also like to caution you, that if you see descending numbers like you had the other night - please get another test to see if he's still falling. These kids love to go low low low at night...and when the numbers are falling from the PMPS right on thru the 3+, you're going to have to set an alarm and test again in an hour or so...he's giving you a warning that this is an active cycle and it's important to get tests until he decides to turn around. If you feel that he's dropping too fast, then it's time to bring out some medium carb food to try to steer him back up and away from the deep end...if he drops too low, you'll have to decrease the dose - so it's a fine line, like walking a tightrope at that point to test/feed, steer to keep him from going too low - and then getting those bounces which seem to always happen after going to low - it's just a natural response of his body to say, hey what happened...the BG was too low - and the liver floods his blood stream with stored sugars to bring that BG back up...then you have to wait out another bounce cycle... Ah yes, the sugar dance...up/down, up/down.

Hopefully you can find a good dose for him to help him surf for longer - and it does seem that once they get used to lower numbers they will go there and stay there longer...it would be good for him to come down out of those pinks...and now the red - looking bouncie there...let's level off there Blaze :)

Well I consider myself a crazy cat lady so I went with the stereotypical “crazy cat lady” for today’s Halloween costume :p

I was lucky enough to work a half day today and am back home and in bed, trying to sleep this cold away. I’ll be spending the rest of the weekend at home, trying to fight off this cold! We live in the country so no trick or treaters in our neck of the woods so it should be a quiet night. Thanks Sue! Hope you have a good night!!:bighug:

Unless something happens tonight, I think Blaze is due for an increase tomorrow morning. Let me know if anyone has any advice!

I’m following TR protocol now, but because I gave a reduced dose on the morning of 10/28, I was advised to hold this dose longer, due to the cycle count starting over after a reduced dose. And he has seen blue and green numbers at this 1.5U dose since the reduced dose, so it seemed like a good idea to hold the dose, which its been 3 and a half days since that reduced dose. He seems to be bouncing today from the yellow numbers last night and he possibly went lower than that, hence the bounce today.

As for not getting extra tests in last night or the night before, I have been home from work, very sick, so it was hard for me to stay up to test the last couple nights. I was advised by others to leave him MC or HC food in the auto feeder and go to bed on the evening of 10/29 because I’m not feeling good.

I would usually stay up to test on a night like 10/29 but I have been in a sick fog the past few days and am trying to get better, I’ve already missed two days of work. So I’m going to give him one more night at 1.5U and if he doesn’t show any better numbers, I will increase to 1.75U tomorrow morning. I’m home Friday through Sunday.
