Good Morning! Crazy good with Ittle again. It’s baffling for sure !

I read Gill’s post to you about Moey and read your response. I so get the stress you must feel dealing with 2 diabetic cats!

If Ittle stays on the path to OTJ, I would also recommend you switching to TR for Moey. Even though he’s been diabetic since 2014, it’s not impossible that he could go into remission. While the rate of remission is higher for cats diagnosed under a year, it does happen! My Bubba went OTJ the first time after 14 months and had been on and off and is currently OTJ for the 4 th time. But , I don’t think it would have happened with out the more aggressive TR protocol.

We love you too Moey, it's just that Ittle is putting on a stunning show for everyone!
Ittle said he's finished with all this pokey business! He's been playing hide and seek with his blood samples the past couple of days too. Getting blood samples has never been a challenge with him. He's compliant in the amount of blood he offers and has the utmost manners. Not the case the last 2 days!:stop: It's like he knows he doesn't need assistance anymore and has revoked my permissions:p
Moey's time is coming. He's going to be in the spotlight very soon. Paws crossed. He wouldn't have it any other way.
I hope you have a wonderful day Jan! Tell Tina, Ittle and Moey appreciate all the advice she passed along!

Good afternoon Bobbie. I hope your day is going well and all of your furry ones are behaving. Ittle is a mystery. I'm happy with not knowing why this happened as long as he stays green!:D He couldn't be more proud of himself. He's zooming all over the place!
I'm going to switch Moey to TR. I want this dosecrease to ride out until the 7 day mark first. His AMPS/PMPS are still elevated but, I've noticed his #'s are starting to have a downward trend during his cycles. Ittle started showing lower #'s in a similar fashion. Then on day 9 Ittle really started to work it. Just wanna give Moey the extra 2 days and see if he progresses anymore. It'd be interesting if my boys are just late bloomers. I do hope Moey can take some tips from Bubba and reach for remission. How incredible would that be!
Thanks for all of your advice and help Bobbie! You are so very appreciated! Have a wonderful day!

Ittle really is looking so great!!

Can't wait for Moey to get his time in the spotlight soon! you are such a great cat mom :D:D
Thank you for the compliment Amanda! I believe Ittle's sudden improvement is an answered prayer. God works in mysterious ways! As for Moey, he's jealous of Ittle's attention. He's ready to show everyone that a 16 yr old can still bust out some moves!
:cat: I hope you and Mowgli are having a wonderful weekend so far!

OMG! Ittle has made an 'Excatutive Decision' No More Juice mama! He's rather amazing isn't he! I hope upon all hopes that this is it for him...it's rather miraculous! But hey, miracles happen!

Just a couple of weeks like this and he'll be 'home free'...well...almost...but sheesh!!! Way to go Briere!!!:joyful::joyful: I hope he stays on track...so so cool!!!:D:D

As for Moey - watch your brother Moey...you can take a lesson...perhaps he will??

Hi there,
regarding the food , I did look on Dr lisas Sortable chart (the one sue has linked) but couldn't find Dr Elseys or Blue Bufalo there??

Ikkle is just showing off today isn't he?

I have limited time over the next week so won't be around very much, but wanted to get back to you about Moey.
I can appreciate that dealing with two FD cats is well..... quite a task to say the least. I remember Mandarin and Walter both creating havock for their CG, she had them both on TR and got the OTJ, I never quite knew how their mom kept it all together, respect to her. @Bobbie And Bubba will remember them.

It's fine to hold on to SLGS with Moey if that's what you want to do. But with regards to your comments above about his nadirs, I just think that he hasn't seen any green in almost 3 weeks, and if he were mine, I would not be happy about how much time he is spending above the renal threshold, he plainly needs more juice, so even if you plan to stick with slgs, do take him up the full increase to 1u when his week is up (unless of course he throws greens at you) I do think that as a long term diabetic he would greatly benefit from TR, holding on for another 3 days until dust settles with ikkle is not going to make a difference one way or other.
As Bobbie pointed out remission is harder for a longterm diabetic, it has happened, I can think of Chris's China after 5 years https://sites.google.com/site/chinawhitesprofile/home, Amy's Trixie 3 1/2 years
, and indeed Sandy's BK (21 months)https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...TZcGoxOFdlUVRWYVdteVAtU1d1VUQxRXc&output=html

I think, that in your situation I would be thinking about regulation first, since that's what will keep your little guy healthy, the rest if it's meant to be will come.
:)

I don't think Dr. Elsey's is on that chart. I found info about Dr. Elsey's in this thread (top)on the forum. I ordered my food based on that information. My ignorance about dry matter vs as fed kinda got me in trouble with that chart. I purchased the Beef as my HC because the chart says 15.7%. Well on chewy.com there is a question asked about the carb content of the beef formula. The answer was 3.7% carb. I purchased the Salmon formula as a higher carb LC at what I thought was 5% carb. Probably not the case as well. I used both formulas to steer curves with no clear impact on #'s. That is when I decided to contact the company for as fed carb % on all of their canned formulas. The company's reply was that they are independently testing each formula with an independent lab. They'll email me the results when testing is concluded. The Blue Buffalo on the sortable food chart is just listed as Blue. Their full name is Blue Buffalo but, are called Blue for short.
It's fine to hold on to SLGS with Moey if that's what you want to do
I'm switching him to TR in 2 days...I think Tuesday is the day. I wanna give him a chance to show some green if it's in him. Although today's #'s haven't been very promising for him to avoid a dosecrease. I won't give up on him and want to see him regulated. Remission for him, although possible, is a pipe dream of sorts. :)
I hope you have a great weekend Gill! Thank you for all of your time and excellent advice:cool:
