Good morning wonderful people and you amazing special kit kats:):cat:

The PMPS +9 snack may be working to lower the AMPS, especially if I'd get it right! I've missed the exact +9 twice, last night it was +9.5 and a couple nights ago +8.5 (already up), but I think this is a great idea, thank you Marje and Gracie. I do have an auto-feeder, but I'd have to lock Tina away from the others and she wouldn't be happy. So I will be getting up at 4am for that snack, but heading right back to bed. Then I get up at 6 for the thyro-tab, then back to bed for almost an hour. Tina Marie is my whole schedule! She's going to help me get closer to retirement too. (Already booked with tons of pet care can be my truthful answer!)

Tina spent a lot of time outside yesterday:D

Make it a special day ------

Happiest Wednesday ever, Jan ❤️ You are not far from me here in Ozarks/ SW corner of Missouri :bighug: We have several family in Dallas and El Paso so Texas is near and dear to our hearts❤️ And, after all, it is Texas ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Extra Scritches to cutie patootie Tina :bighug:

LOL! Tina, don't send Mama in to retirement too soon!
She's looking great Jan, and so happy she's feeling good!
Have a great day! :bighug:
I'm happy with her improvements! If I hadn't found this board, there is no telling what shape she would be in. Don't even want to think much on that now.
Enjoy your beautiful weather and your beautiful Leo:cool:>:D

Yes, our days of scheduling are all around our Kitties......but we love them and continue to give more and more.
Hope you and Tina are doing well this morning and that your eyes are doing even better :):bighug::bighug:
You are exactly right. It's great to come to a place where we find like minded people who care so much.
We are well, aching for you, but Barkley is about to take me for a nice refreshing walk over to the corner of Tina and Marie streets:)

My eyes are fantastic, thank you! My brother and SIL think I younger, and my dad didn't recognize me (he has visual and mental deficiencies).
More undereye bags and darkness show without glasses covering, but hey, I'll take younger!

My in-laws are still near KC, where I lived for 7 years, but soon to be heading south for warmer weather! I've left Texas twice, but came back - important relatives are here, and no matter what stereotypes exist, Texas is a great place. North, South, East and West are quite different though. When I left Colorado, to come back to TX, the kids thought I'd be riding horses to school!! I wish! I love Springfield, MO! And the Ozarks are so lovely.
Give Elmo lotses of huggles if you catch him! Oh, my DH drives by you frequently;)

Glad Tina is enjoying her outside time. I hope she surfs safely today.
It makes my extremely sore knees and legs well worth the pain! Tina is back to loving life and feeling more like a cat. She would sun in 100 degree weather for hours in the summer of 2018. Yes, the safe surfing is what she needs to be doing:) Reminder - she still needs purring lessons. She is my only cat who doesn't purr. She uses squinty eyes instead.

OK, now the +4 is really making me think it's the starchy gabapentin she had at PMPS yesterday and AMPS today. The gourmed no-sugar version should be here today: tomorrow at absolute latest. I'm anxious to see if it really makes an obvious difference. I thought it did the first round several weeks ago, when she only got half what she's getting now.

She’s pretty flat. I do see an improvement in her AMPS. If it’s ok, I’d like to continue just a few more days doing this before we reduce.

Sometimes when we get to these lower doses, if the kitty is getting too much insulin, we see an inverted curve. I’m not seeing that yet so it leads me to believe we can see if she can do just a tiny bit better. I’d like to get seven days where she’s below 110, if we can.....so she’s almost there. I want to be cautious so you don’t lose any momentum when you do reduce.

Sound ok?

Sounds perfect!
Would it also be a good idea to start checking AMPS +2, where she's always been higher?
Any little thing you notice I could do better with, just let me know:)
Thanks so much Marje.

You’re welcome!

Well...I have always been a +2 advocate. It’s important to know her onset, nadir, duration. Most cats on Lantus onset at +2.
I will test +2 in the morning. In the back of my mind, I think I was avoiding the higher numbers on the spreadsheet:facepalm: Thanks again for assisting my brain! I've only assumed the food bump and pre-onset of insulin would always make +2 higher than AMPS. I need to fill in blank hours, esp. +2.

My eyes are fantastic,
WOW! Now I'm looking forward to having cataract surgery! ( Dr said I'm not ready yet :arghh: )

So glad to hear you're 'young again' after your surgery! And that Tina is feeling so well...looking great...Who needs to sleep straight thru anyway? ha ha...maybe these cats have the right idea after all? Cat naps all around...

Hope you have a great evening Jan!

It's something I decided was a positive about getting older! I splurged, and had my vision corrected with Envista lenses, mini monovision, in addition to getting rid of the yellow/brown cataract lenses! My number was 2+, and the doctor said they usually do the surgery at 2+ to 3+ It's still like a miracle - I only need 1.5 reading glasses if I'm reading small print for extended times, unless I extend my arms! I can see the computer very clearly. I can read text messages easily. I do wear reading glasses when testing Tina's BG. My own cats look much more white now instead of cream colored!

Sue, I AM getting better at night, going back to bed instead of jumping online for an hour. I still haven't learned how to nap during the day. The only time I tried, my neighbor brought out some power tools and went to work:banghead: Gotta laugh now though. I need to cat nap during the day!!
