Thanks
@Sarah&Soph I’ve used Humulin which is similar in its action to Vetsulin.

Take her off the insulin or take her off the antibiotics? Unless you were giving her the antibiotic that you have to mix and has sugar in it, I doubt the antibiotics were causing her BG to go up. There are a lot of different antibiotics that don’t have the same effect of making the cat sick. I’m surprised the vet totally stopped them. If she has an infection and didn’t get enough antibiotics, you are setting her up for DKA.
The reason I am not comfortable giving you dosing advice and others should also be cautious is because you aren’t testing enough for us to give you solid advice. You’ve done better with some of the night cycles.
With all those blacks, my suspicion is she is going low on you somewhere, bouncing hard, and diving again. I’ve mentioned before that you can’t just keep shooting 2u of Vetsulin “blindly”. It’s a harsh insulin, can drop her rapidly, and then she will respond by these high numbers you see.
Linda suggested you drop the dose back and it’s a good suggestion. It’s not the first time one of us has been concerned that her dose was too high.
If you can’t get daytime tests due to work, if you can share your schedule, we can help you figure out when you can test so we can have a better idea of what’s going on.
We would really like to help you and Phoebe but our hands our somewhat tied if you don’t have any data for us to go on. Insulin is a hormone, not a medication and so you aren’t always going to get the same response from cycle to cycle.
