Yesterday. Caber Yr 2 Day 12

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. It was way to nasty to go out so I stayed home and did nothing. Today it's the same except wind has died down some.

Tux is eating more but not 100%. The urgent care called yesterday to check on him. I told them he still wasn't eating but a few bites and I gave another cerenia and bupre. They wanted to know how I knew what dose to give. They were perturbed to say the least. They say I could bring him in everyday for cerenia shot. I asked about getting injectable for home. They said people can't give shots at home. I told them I have a cat I give insulin, b12 and subqs to at home, and retired nurse. I'm perfectly capable of doing it. Nope . They said if not eating by today, to bring him in and hospitalize him for few days. Thinking no way, no one there overnight, and he wouldn't eat and they wouldn't offer different foods or try toppings every hour like I have been. He is better off at home unless it's a clear emergency.

Demo on kitchen starts the 28th. Have to pick up another light switch just in case the recessed can't be wired in the way I want.

At least I have 10 more days to finish packing up kitchen.

Oh Paula, happy belated birthday
Sending prayers and healing vines to Tux!!
Come on down there Olive
Have a great day

Come on down closer to the lagoon Ollie!
Well gee Paula the urgent care vet can't make money if you do the injections at home  I hope Tux starts eating better for you!

Praying Tux feels better and that he continues to eat.

Sorry that you didn't get to go out to celebrate your birthday. I hope it was a fun birthday at home :bighug:

I hope Olive is doing well and surfs safely

Poor little Tux.. I missed a week:( Hope he's back to eating well! For sure, he's better at home with you than over there!
Fun that your kitchen reno are on the way.

Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you get out this weekend with DH and do something fun !

The urgent care stinks to not let you do the injectable Cerenia. How about you regular vet?

Kitchen Reno! What a mess and hope you have a crockpot, microwave, toaster oven , and gas grill . I was lucky that when we did ours, we moved the kitchen to a different location so I had the old kitchen to use while new kitchen was being built. And it was still not fun.

I hope Tux continues to eat for you. Sorry the ER vet is being so difficult. It sounds like they are behind the times. Sending prayers.

Sorry you're birthday weather was crappy but that means you're still owed a birthday celebration whenever you feel like it. :bighug:
I hope Tux continues to eat for you and like Bobbie suggested, maybe you're regular vet will be more understanding. Best of luck. :bighug:
At least Ollie is doing well and staying away from the sharks.

he still wasn't eating but a few bites
Have you tried CBD OIL? My kitty with Oral cancer eats 4-5 times a day & I know it's from the 3 drops of CBD I give her each day.
Might be worth a try?

Oh Paula! I'm sorry to hear you got such pushback from that vets office! However, you know they're just reading from the 'rulebook' ! And you're 100% better equipped to take care of him at home than they are...I agree with Bobbie...go to your regular vet and ask him about the injectable...sheesh.

Sorry to hear you didn't get to celebrate on 'the day'...but I think it's okay to celebrate all month... :)

Good luck on getting the rest of that stuff packed up over the next week or so...it's sure inconvenient but I'm sure you'll love it! I remember doing dishes in the laundry tub...cooking on top of the dryer in a crockpot...microwave and coffeemaker sitting on my sewing machine desk...oh what a mess that was...keep it simple and eat out as much as you can afford to...you'll get through it. I can't wait to see the pics!!! :) So exciting!!!

And finally, give that little Ollie some scritches...she's a good girl :)

Yikes! Poor Tux. I really hope he eats for you soon! So silly they won’t let you handle the cerenia yourself hopefully your regular vet will have a better understanding of your credentials!

Olive is looking nice today!$

:bighug::bighug::bighug:❤️ Praying you are easily able to have done for Tux what is needed. I know vets have laws and regulations they must abide by but at times it seems they are just unwilling to think outside the box , to trust a competent owner. Hope they reconsider, Paula :bighug:

I had to t/f/s and run tonight. Had mandatory in service at work.

Anytime Tux does this (about once a year and never this long), I have to see who ever is on at vet that day, of course it's never his. And the ones I see are reluctant to give me the injectable. Yet no problem giving me supply of controlled substance.

Anyway, Tux is just about back to normal. At his next appt I will talk to his Dr about it.

Yeah for Tux :bighug::)❤️ Such good news, Paula :)

Happy belated birthday! Sorry it was too nasty to go out. May this weekend will be better and you can do something fun.
I hope Tux gets to feeling and eating better. My vet is not terribly knowledgeable about FD, but he is great about letting me treat at home.
A kitchen remodel sounds a little nightmarish, but I bet it will be wonderful when it’s done!
Scritches for Ollie!
