Dierdre - give Jerry some extra scritches and a kiss. I keep watching your spreadsheet to try to figure him out! Are you thinking about another increase?
Have there been any health changes, or environmental changes? I only ask because he had been doing better on less insulin.
I hope he's just fine - its just that his pancreas still needs some assistance.

Hi Dierdre....hope your having a nice day :) I want to commend you for all your patience.
You have lots of patience and Jerry will flatten out soon with lower numbers. Your doing a terrific job :bighug:

No changes. I'm feeding a higher carb food to try to flatten out his curve and to allow for the higher dose. Hopefully if I can get his dives under control we'll be doibg ok.

Looking like Jerry has finally hit the beach...I hope he'll hang around a while. Those blue numbers should be good for him...no shocks to the system...hopefully this is the 'turning point' you've been waiting for! Fingers and paws cross Deirdre!!

Thank you Sue, I certainly hope so but Jerry always seems to have other plans.;)

Even with that late cycle drop of 100 mg/dL between +3 and +4, he still looked a little flatter today. And you fed 9% through those numbers?

I know I’ve asked before but is there anything at all that is different with him? He’s playing, peeing, pooping, preening, purring, eating (but not contraband), etc etc? Same old Jerry?

Yep same old lazy boy. All of the P's he doesn't really play much, he's 17 and lazy.
I'm at a complete loss this evening. His PMPS was 509 +2 463 and +3 522...
I'm sorry I forgot to write in his food % in the comments. I will correct that before I head to bed. He's been fed 9% throughout both cycles.

I’m sorry. I know those numbers are really stressing you out. That’s a hard bounce. Let’s go back to the 5% food tomorrow since he’s bouncing so hard. With him shooting up so fast, it looks to me like he lost some duration and also a 100 mg/dL drop is going to cause a big bounce.

And....no issues with the insulin, right? Sorry to be repetitive.

No, got a new pen in august and its been refrigerated. Sigh, its tough to see 500's but I'll get over it.

How about teeth? Has he had a dental? Sometimes infection or other dental issues can really change the picture.

I was thinking about that...his teeth have always been good. Checked last year during his annual but its been a year of diabetes so that could have changed. He's due for his annual checkup so once I get him there (I dread vet visits with him) i'll have them checked. Should be in a week or two. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort while eating though.:bighug:

It’s very possible these numbers are due to a health issue. I would definitely get him in and get him checked over.
