Yoshi 10/15 amps 428 dental tomo

Clindomycin (sp???) Or Orbax are good ones. I always get suspension. Orbax is once a day. I usually have to split up the clindo cuz it makes my cats vomit and foam.

Sending dental vines :bighug:I am not sure why people dont use convenia, that's what bella always gets when he needs it, is there something wrong with that kind?

It's just that if there's a bad reaction, the AB stays in the system for weeks. Some cats had allergies and died because of it.
Personally, all my cats got Convenia shots in France in the past, and it was always efficient and OK. But now that I know, I don't want it anymore.

That is horrible, maybe I will not let him have it anymore then when needed, thank u

Vetty vines for dear Yoshi! Good luck tomorrow and hopefully this dental will get him all straightened out :)

I don’t know anything about Antibiotics, I’m sure the vet will know :)

Clindamycin is a good AB for oral issues. It comes in both pill and liquid. Both taste fouls, so pill pockets or gel caps if using pills. Regardless of which Ab, they can be hard on tummy flora, so a probiotic is a good idea, given at least two hour away from the AB.

Hoping that things go really well tomorrow for Yoshi. :bighug::bighug: Do you have some all meat babyfood around? He may need something really easy to eat if he has extractions.

Another vote for Clindamycin as the AB of choice for dental issues. I agree, the liquid tastes terrible (i tasted it), and although liquid seems like a good idea and easy to administer after dental work, most of it ends up on the floor. I recently switched to Clindamycin capsules for our girl with stomatitis and it is working out much better.

p.s. Sending good vines for tomorrow!

Was about to say clindamycin for AB. At our hospital, we give clindamycin 15 minutes before the dental via IV (but that depends on the doctor if they follow that protocol). Then it’s usually prescribed for the caregiver to give at home.

I used Florastor for probiotic. It can be found at any human grocery or pharmacy. I give 1/4 cap twice daily for maintenance. 1/2 cap twice daily if there’s diarrhea or stomach issues until resolved.

No but I can get some. I don’t even know what baby food looks like.
