Hello! Scratches has been bouncing all over. I was told to not shoot anything under 200, so I haven't been. I updated her spread sheet today as I have a bit more information. I'm making an appointment with my old vet (I switched bc they messed an appointment up a few years ago) because I don't like how her new vet has handled her diabetes so far. The tech at her old vet told me to take down all the records and she should be able to get me in within a week or two. So that just gives me more time to get more numbers down. I hope they can spot a pattern. In the meantime, can you just take a look at her spread sheet? I'm sorry if it is done wrong, if it is please tell me. I think it's right!! Thank you!!

Hi. Did you start at 2 units? I am thinking the dose may be a little high due to the wide swings in the pre-shot numbers. The starting dose is normally 1 unit, and it is best to systematically increase in increments of 1/4 unit so as not to zoom past the best dose. You want to consistently be able to give the shots and not have to skip regularly.

Yes that's what her new vet started her out at. Now that I know what I know, the vet should have told me to change her diet, test her sugar regularly and record the numbers, then go back to the vet and see where we needed to be insulin wise. At least that's what I think should have been done. Now I'm fighting trying to get her off the dry food all while giving her insulin and trying to not make her sick or worse. Pain in the ass. I'm hoping her other vet will help me out.
