Today is Pumpkin's one week mark of being on 1 unit of Prozinc 2x a day. I have been testing her BG since Saturday, so 5 days. So far, she has not had any numbers under 223 on a human meter, with her highest being 327. Her spreadsheet is in my signature. I have done pre-feeding testing on a regular basis and a few in between.

Is it too early to tell if the insulin dose needs to be adjusted? Should we be looking for lower numbers than 200s? I'll be going back to the vet late next week and I just wanted to get some opinions. I love working with him, but he suggested just giving the insulin without testing and coming back in 2 weeks for them to test. I went ahead and bought a meter as soon as possible thanks to the advice from this forum.

Did you give 1U yesterday evening? You don't have a PMPS or anything in the U column for 10/1

I think you can go up to 1.25.....we want our kitties between 50-120 (on a human meter) as much as possible so that hopefully their pancreas can heal and start working again!

Should be in there now

Yep! I figured you just forgot

I still do think you could go up.....and I'd also suggest getting at least 1 test "before bed" on the PM cycle.....most cats go lower at night so it's important as well as you're missing half the data without PM tests too. That's kind of like trying to figure out what the puzzle is with only having pieces on the left side....is it a puppy or a kitten on the right side? Without some pieces sprinkled in, there's no way to know! ;)
