Looking for some tips on increasing Scout’s current dosage. Although I’m not yet able to do a curve because Scout is not fully on board with lots of pokes,

the tests I have been getting don’t show him leaving reds or pinks, so I’m thinking that it’s been 7 days at this dose and he’s ready for an increase of 0.25 units. Does this sound like a wise amount to increase?Any advice, wisdom and tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Susan & Scout

Typically more test data would be needed, especially at night. But In this case I personally think you’re right that scout needs an increase. If you decide to go ahead definitely only go up 0.25u :)

Is testing at the +3 mark after the PMPS sufficient for “more test data”, or do you need + 5, +7, etc.? I’m not new to diabetes, but never knew very much about PM tests. Thanks for any help out there!

Yes, a +3 is a good test. At least one test after PMPS so that we can get a food idea of what is going on for Scout at night :)

If the test is way lower then that will tell you if you need more test data. I use SS colours as a strategy... but you will learn what BGs at night indicate Scout needs more tests with time.

For the spreadsheet I look to see if Mowgli has skipped a colour between the PS and the +2 (+3in your case) for example, if he goes from pink to blue then I know he’s completely skipped yellow.... that tells me he’s dropping fast so I have to get another test. Make sense?

:bighug::bighug: Good morning , Susan and Scout :bighug::bighug: Hoping Scout has settled down and no more biting his loving Momma:)

Good advice, Amanda... thank you

Susan, sorry I missed this yesterday...Elmo has me on my toes and many times I do not correctly recall my name  Glad Scout has stopped his biting :bighug:

Great analogy @AmandaE - I'm sure that will be helpful as Scout gains confidence that his mama isn't trying to hurt him...only help!

I hope Scout figures out that it's not too bad getting up there in the testing place - comes with free snacks :)
