Some of you may recall back in July I posted here about my cat vomiting and not eating and after a week of nothing the vet prescribed working, I asked to have an xray taken and they found that, somehow, Sammy at some point unknown, swallowed a quarter. The quarter was surgically removed and Sammy healed well and was back to his old self in a couple of weeks, including, unfortunately, vomiting; this had me very concerned and I've since learned he's really regurgitating, not vomiting, due to eating too fast.
I was somewhat relieved, but it's driving me crazy. I tried putting his kibbles (Young Again Mature) in a large pie plate a tablespoon at a time spreading it all around the pie plate so he has to hunt and work for every morsel, to try and curtail the fast eating. The regurgitating did subside some, but two or three times a week I'm still having to clean up a little stream of undigested wet kibbles.
So then I thought perhaps that maybe he's too sensitive to Young Again so I spoke with the folks there and they felt pretty sure it wasn't what he was eating, but more of a nervous condition causing the fast eating, and to continue with the pie plate method.
I'm here asking any of you kind folks what you think I what I can try. I have moments of concern, like the first time, that this may be more serious, but other than the occasional regurgitation, he hasn't shown any of the other symptoms like the first time--he's eating, drinking, pooping, peeing, playing, preening, and purring like a very healthy cat.
I'm about to put in a reorder for his YA, but thought I'd come here first to see perhaps if anyone else has a cat that has this issue, and if it could be caused by a high protein food such as YA.
Thanks in advance and appreciate all the feedback.
