9/20 Yoshi amps 433 +3 419 + 7 562? +8 382

Thank you. If not, I’m going to have to switch insulins. He’s too high. It’s weird how he it the green and yellow on a much lower dose.
I can definitely understand! As long as you’re giving insulin I think that’s what is important. And you’re familiar and comfortable with Prozinc so it might be a good option especially if you don’t see signs of progress soon :)

Sure was hoping to see improvement on this dose. I might try the increase to 3U tonight, and if you still don't see improvement, I'd be like you and give more thought to switching insulins. It just stays in my mind, how I had to go up to 3 units to finally bash Tina's high numbers, then we got to start decreasing pretty rapidly. Now she's stuck on her chosen dose of .62U.

I wonder if I should increase to 3 tonight? I made an appointment with the old prozinc vet for a second opinion but it’s not till wed at 8am

If you increase tonight, you could be preparing in two ways, first, by having the vet appointment Wednesday, and second by giving Lantus more of a chance. Since Yoshi hasn't been under 300, 3U would be good (the half instead of quarter unit increase), like you said.
Let's see what others think!

I’m also wondering if he’s not responding to the insulin because he needs a dental (I planned on getting it once he stabilizes per vet). I know it could cause him to run high but this is ridiculous

Have you checked out some other kitties SS's who are on higher doses of Lantus? Sometimes it just takes more, more and more to get them into better numbers. You really can't say based on what happened 'before'. This is a new ballgame and is pancreas isn't helping...so he needs insulin to achieve a better blood glucose...I'm voting for another increase as soon as your protocol says to increase. TR would allow you to increase after 6 cycles with these numbers. I'm sorry but I don't recall why you're on SLGS?

I’m not. I need to change my signature. I test enough for tr. Sometimes work doesn’t allow me to test as much (t and th)

Super! If you change your signature then you're ready for an increase. The last dose marked 6 cycles at this dose which was not successful at getting him to better numbers. I'd increase tonight.

Would you mind looking at my spreadsheet and letting me know if I need to do anything differently to be Tr? I’m a teacher and t/th I can’t get home to test until +10. M/w I can get a +8 and I’m off fri- sun to test whenever

He also has a bit of facial twitching every now and then. I’m not sure what that is
I find that since Mowgli has started Lantus he too has facial twitches from time to time, it doesn't seem to bother him though! I've heard other members say the same.

I am not too sure about the amount of testing because I am SLGS. I thought it was as long as you can grab a additional test / cycle. If there are only 2 days a week you cant test maybe you could handle it by not shooting the night before or the morning of your work day. Hopefully someone with more experience can field that one :)

I rather suspect the issue is the dose, not the type of insulin. Yoshi needs more insulin, I would increase. You can always slow down increases when you are less able to monitor and he gets into better numbers. If you can get a preshot plus one other per cycle, you can do TR.

My girl got over 3 units before she saw any green, 8.75 before her first reduction, some kitties go much higher. Whether Prozinc or Lantus, a kitty needs however much insulin they need. Every cat is different.

Insulin is a hormone, not a medicine. You don’t always see incrementally better numbers with each increase. You just need to get to a better dose, safely of course.

It’s quite possible he ordered take out while I went to visit my father
