Yes. What is that guy doing? Come on Tyler! We know you can do better. :cat:
I know he's driving me crazy, He was doing so good in the past. He was begging for food at 8 pm wouldn't shut up. I put it in front of him and he says a little then I have to chase him around holding the dish up to his mouth and then he eats. I will starve him all day and then I'm sure he will eat I'llI'll @MrWorfMen's Mom look at #53

@MrWorfMen's Mom We have a green @+2. 93
Just fed him some LC Fancy Feast, when should I check him again? I know you are supposed to feed to make sure he comes up with food correct? So if it comes up now with the food, then I shouldn't feed him anymore and then check to see after not feeding if it came up on its own right? @MrWorfMen's Mom

Yeah Green!

Check again in 30 minutes. If he's down, give him a bit of MC to boost him up and retest in 30. If steady, retest in 30 minutes to make sure he's holding. The one last test another 45 minutes to 1 hour to make sure he's holding without food. Rinse /repeat until you get 2 readings that are above 90 or rising but not dropping without food influence. If he keeps dropping you can replace MC with HC to give him a swifter boost.

I have to go out in few minutes so if any problems, post for help in Health. He's looking good.

Diane, Tyler is safe unless he drops way lower than 90. We use that limit with Vetsulin to make sure you have an extra cushion before kitty would be in danger of hypo simply because Vetsulin can drop BG quickly. The higher BG of 90 allows more time to intervene. Tyler doesn't tend to have sudden drops so he may not need that much cushion but better too much than too little.

You did exactly what you needed to do and kept Tyler safe. He's lucky to have you. I know it's nerve racking but he was in no danger. Unless he starts dropping below about 68, the chances of hypo are slim to nil. Sorry I wasn't here but I went to visit a friend's Aunt I am very fond of. She's 92, has all her faculties and is a lovely wonderful person. I can only hope to be in such good shape if I make it to that age! :)

Hi Linda I panicked when I saw 91, should I have given him the MC like I did, just in case I get similar number like today. I didn't understand what you meant #66.
Can you please take a look at it and explain it to me. No need to say sorry that I you weren't around, you are allowed to have a life lol. Your friends Aunt is probably in better shape than us lol. I glad you got out and enjoyed your visit. I guess I got a little nervous because of the 3 green number which we haven't seen in a while.
Wonder what tonight will be and the dosage @MrWorfMen's Mom
Now when he was 91 @+3 and I gave MC, what would have happened if I didn't feed him anything, most likely he would have kept dropping right? @MrWorfMen's Mom

91 and 99 are essentially the same given meter variance but you don't know whether each reading is low, high or essentially right on. SO giving Tyler the MC at 91 was perfectly logical. You may have been able to get away with LC but the goal is to keep Tyler safe so either choice would be fine and what you did worked was great.

If you get dropping numbers and have to feed a couple of times to keep BG up, we recommend letting down your guard until you have 2 readings above the intervention limit (90) without having to feed again to keep numbers at 90 or above. Looks to me like you handled him like a pro and the next time, you can try LC for MC and see what he does. Tyler is an extremely stable kitty who doesn't seem to do anything dramatically which is a god send.

Does that help?

Yes it helps, I has such a time getting him to try the MC, he doesn't like to chew anything, so I just put the can of MC 15% right in front of his face and of course I had to hold it for him and he just licked it, maybe a few pieces of it got in his mouth and he had to chew it. I was worried that he didn't lick enough but I guess he did. I even tried to take some of the gravy and pour it on the FF pate LC but he would not eat it. I wanted to shove it in his face Iol . Now he's been sleeping since this ordeal started. I will check in with you tonight as usual to let you know what his PMPS is and what to shoot OK @MrWorfMen's Mom

Yesterday's cycle was as close to perfect as you can get. Doesn't look like he's bounced much if at all from the green BGs yesterday so I don't see any reason to change dose right now. He was quite safe the whole time and in healing numbers. I'd go with the fat 0.5u again but if you are uncomfortable with that, drop it to 0.5u on the line.
