ok, is it going to be THAT kind of a day ?? :banghead:

yesterday gave me hope; today not so much

bounce? is the dose too high (my guess), or too low (what others recommend) ?

never mind, it's a steady rain here, and my expen$ive tent canopy, which DS left outside last night, has a broken frame and he'll probably want to sell it to the metal recyclers :(

don't know if it was the weight of the rain, the wind, or just his carelessness

Nice blues yesterday. I hope Catcat comes back down soon. Sorry about your tent canopy. Maybe you can fix it.

DS says it's not worth it, not sturdy enough in his opinion --
I have an idea of how to fix it but it's hard to reclaim things once he decides they are junk
he just gets rid of them without asking first

cannot count how many times he's thrown away something I was saving for my lunch

he forgets that when he was a child, we had to live mostly on what we retrieved from store dumpsters -- what he thinks should be thrown out, is often quite usable

:( Sorry to hear that...

You'll have to be fast to save your 'stuff' from that destiny. But sometimes it's just too difficult to repair things they make these days...unless you're very creative and/or very handy...

Catcat is making progress...at least he's not pink anymore. Tell him Luci has gone off to the lagoon without him...she's looking for playmates out there :)

he's coming down, but it's not much of a curve, I'd expect by now with the increase, we would see at least high greens -- instead I'm seeing more pinks and yellows than before

I keep having the feeling that this dose is too high, not too low -- with all the extra hormone being dumped in I think his pancreas has quit trying to work -- it was "stuttering" a bit before, caused some unexpected low BGs .. it's not happening now

I think he needs an increase - how long before you can take him up .25? I'm sorry but I never remember on SLGS - so used to TR with the every 6 cycles increase.

Did you see how long it took Luci when I switched her to Lev? It was quite some time before she got enough to do the job...

this is cycle #5 since we upped it to 1.25 .. seems to me he was doing better on .75, then we upped it to 1.0, now up again to 1.25 .. it's feasible to increase again tomorrow morning (that's a TR schedule not the SLGS he's been on) -- I'm really reluctant to increase since it seems the higher dose he gets, the more he lays around sleeping, the lazier he seems, the more food he wants, the less weight he gains --and I have to increase the carb content for night cycle since it's also not feasible for me to stay up all night -- my years are telling on me, I've got Chronic Fatigue syndrome (at least the drs tell me that's all they can figure), I really need 10 uninterrupted hours of sleep and I've been getting about 5 to 6, with one or two interruptions for bathroom visits

seriously, to me it's looking more and more like a failed increase -- flat yellows -- even testing more frequently, close to a curve .. only the curve isn't curving

by the way, same food all day -- relatively equal portions at each test

what would change my mind? if I stick with this dose and get low blues and high greens tomorrow --

Totally agree with Sue, increase

Is there any chance of an infection going on? Like a UTI or dental disease?

You test more than enough to do TR by the way. Sometimes when you hold a dose too long, it allows glucose toxicity to set in (where basically, even with insulin, the numbers don't budge)

If you don't see some blues or greens tonight, I'd go up in the morning.

had a dental done last month, 4 teeth pulled, no obvious pinkness (other than normal) in his mouth, he chomps down on dry sardines and home stewed chicken chunks, those clean things up well, no bad breath, no not even fishy -- no sign in the litter box of any problem, no smells, wet spots the normal size, isn't washing his bottom incessantly, he normally doesn't like his belly touched/rubbed but he WILL let me do so

it's just confusing me because his BG is going higher and higher, and he looks like he's not very comfortable, not really lethargic, just sleeping much more than usual -- I'll swap his litter box for the one with lentils in it, see if I can catch some pee (I have ketone strips)

doesn't look like blues or greens tonight the way he's trending -- unless this is the tail end of a bounce and he'll break it tonight -- I'll feed the lower of the LC food tonight (1%, 0%) instead of the Friskies or Paws and Claws which each run about 4-6% -- those tend to raise his BG about 30 points more than the others (4Health, Blue Wilderness, Fancy Feast)

I occasionally test enough for TR, but Catcat's ears can't take that on a continuing basis, I have to give him a break between the rigorous days, usually he has about a 3 day cycle -- one day of yellows, maybe with pink bookends, one day of mostly blues, then a day dipping into low blues or medium greens -- every so often it's like his pancreas let out a bit more and he dives .. but I'm getting more brave about shooting during those .. too bad the dive often comes near the end of a day cycle, would be much nicer if he'd do that in the morning before AMPS

please remember, I did that last increase only TWO DAYS ago -- really am not comfortable doing another increase so soon

even TR says to hold to 3 TO 5 days -- and nadirs, except for today, have been under 200 ---

of course we don't know where he went yesterday afternoon .. this could be a mini bounce

if you look at his pattern, he usually has a lower nadir on the fourth day ... which would be tomorrow

Yes...3 days is 6 cycles so tonight's cycle is #6

You're currently testing more than enough to do TR....it's only required that you do the Pre-shots and at least 1 test in between shots (total of 4 tests per day)

If you are more comfortable waiting for 8-10 cycles, that's fine....just don't hold a dose that's not getting the results you want too long.
