Hi, long time no post! My hubby had unexpected open heart surgery, so things have been a bit nuts. His surgery went very well and he is now home recovering. And during this crazy time, we also adopted a new civvie kitten -- Luigi! Before we brought him home, we showed Phoebe Squeak his photo and she approved. (photos attached) They have become fast friends.

Hope everyone is doing well – I have a lot to catch up on.

Thanks to
@Olive & Paula for the great suggestions on how to handle surgery week.

Fabulous news that DH is recovering nicely from surgery! And congratulations on the newest member of the feline family! So precious...and getting along so well too!!! I would wish Luci could get along so well with another kitty...she's too spoiled I think for any other kids in the house..she used to fight through the window with our civvie Abbey...they never got along - once or twice Luci would get out on the step in the garage and she and Abbey would go into a squalling/attack match immediately upon laying eyes on one another...sheesh :( You're so lucky that Phoebe is so accepting and gracious to share her chair with the newcomer!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

You are right! We are so grateful that Phoebe accepted Luigi! She lost her older "brother" civvie in October and she got diabetes a few months later, so we were hopeful that she'd be happy to have a housemate again and maybe she'd start to feel better too. The chair was purchased for my husband's recovery -- it is painful to sleep flat after open heart surgery -- but the cats took it over while he was at the hospital. They've now been relocated. :cat::cat:
I've had the situation you have with Luci in the past -- cats that never got along even after a long time together. It's so frustrating. But it sounds like Luci is happy as an only kitty.

Wow! What an update!! I’m so glad that everything went well with the surgery and that DH is recovering nicely! Also CONGRATS on the new family member!! I’m with Sue on cats not getting along. I just CANT seem to get Mowgli and Nyx to see eye to eye. But Nyx is 8 and never spent time with another cat before so I’m not going to push it.

Looking forward to seeing your posts again... welcome back :joyful:
