Scout vomited this morning a little over 3 hours after breakfast. I took his BG after cleaning it up, and his +3.5 was 333.
I gave him 1/2 a 4mg. Ondansetron for nausea, I’m waiting a little to feed him, and he seems hungry.
Does vomiting some of his breakfast 3 hours later have a negative affect on his blood glucose the rest of the day? I’m not sure if this is the pancreatitis coming back, or a case of a big hair ball that just brought up stomach contents with it. I waited for him to eat this morning before I gave him his insulin, there’s no controlling for vomiting 3 hrs. later though, is there? Should I just proceed as usual with the rest of the day, & try to get more tests in?

I don't know if it will affect his numbers. If you can get him to eat like he normally does the rest of the day he should be fine. I'd test like you normally would.

If cats feel icky, it can increase their numbers. If it is pancreatitis , then he may be in pain, which can also rIse the BG. Just proceed as normal and we’ll hope it's a hairballs. Pending hairballs can make them feel off with higher numbers, getting rid of it will bring them back down.

I hope his numbers come down soon. Not sure why he vomited, so not sure if it will affect his numbers.

Feel better soon Scout!

I’ll watch him for signs of pain, and give him Buprenorphine if he looks like he’s hurting a bit. It is so hard to tell.
Thanks for the help!
