We have an active cycle tonight. I don't think I'm going to sleep much. Planning on testing him frequently, as it's a big dive.

I gave him a "vacation dose" tonight of 3 units, but now I'm having second thoughts and maybe should do 2.5u if he is going to dive like this while I am away and nobody to test him and stay awake for him etc.

Also, I am not sure it's related but, I was reading today on @Figaro's Liz thread (I think) about shooting on another part of the body, and I thought I'd try too. Now I almost regret it if this cycle becomes dangerous!!

Is someone here this evening? :cat:

He is still almost pink. I think you can test in an hour and then go to sleep,

Steep drops are not a reason to lower the vacation dose. You base a vacation dose on making sure his nadirs are high enough that he will be safe. No problem with the 3.25 unit dose. In fact, if you were staying home, he would be due another increase.

Yes I would definitely increase tomorrow if I stayed.
I am very curious about tonight's nadir though. And a little nervous too!
Would you go to sleep even if he continues to go down? We're still so early in the cycle...

Just bouncing off the 263. I wouldn't go less than 3 for the vacation dose
Yes, that's what I think. 3 will be the easiest for a cat sitter too. I thought he would go way downer last night, but his liver could not stand it!
He came down from the HI pretty nicely though. I will test him again today at +7.

I feel bad that we leave right when he would need an increase. When I get home, hoping these 5 days will pass without any issue, I'll be more aggressive.
