Am I the only person who is constantly Googling things like "Carb count for Skittles....taco shells....peanuts....pears....raisins....crumpets....red licorice?? Tonight I am doing a Google check for the carb count of skinless hot dogs after Tucker managed to get the bin lid open and by the time he was caught he had eaten at least several bites of a skinless frankfurter. Oh Tucker....

Oh boy :( Sounds like some other cats around here .... always looking for an opportunity for contraband.

It's hard...but you've got to outwit that boy. He's a diabetic...and they have cravings...

My MIL was a diabetic and used to hide all kinds of sweets in her room...we'd find cookies, wrapped up slices of pie, etc. hidden in the nightstand, dresser drawers...candy, all of it. She was awful about it...and Luci is forever on patrol for the slightest crumb of carb - yesterday I was baking a pie and she was trying to lick some of the flour that I'd accidentally splashed on the floor - it was just a bit of dust - but there she was trying to sniff around and see if there was perhaps a morsel of something there - carby! I had to obviously skoot her away and stop to clean the floor...ugh...these cats.

Any chance you're not feeding him enough or need to spread his meals out more?
Were my thoughts @Sienne and Gabby (GA) :-\ or is Tucker just naughty like Nelli?

I caught Alice trying to lick my pizza, chocolate doughnuts, soy milk, etc. pretty much all in the past week or so. I don’t even bother to google now. If she did get enough to have an effect, I can’t stop it once it’s done!

The skittles and licorice though.... those are a bit of a surprise!

I have/had house rabbits that would eat anything they can get a hold of.... from chocolate covered espresso beans, to my walls.

Not kitty related but when I was cleaning out my mother's belongings and got to the cedar chest I found rock hard pieces of wedding cake in there only wrapped in paper napkins. The last weddings she went to were 12 years earlier. Candy and such in the oddest places. I guess that's when the dementia started.

That's sad...but it happens :(

Rhubarb was begging for my blueberries, so I dropped one for her (they are wild, so pinhead size) and she sniffed it then looked up at me like "what the heck is that???" Lol

It was a memento custom that had died out. My gran had a drawerful. My mother kept pieces as well.

Rover would scour the floors. He'd eat inedible things like pieces of carpet fluff – no clue what the carb count was on that. TR protocol was not an option. I had to leave dry food out all the time.

I have a kitchen garbage can with no lid and only have to worry if I put something like roast chicken in there, which I now put in a sealed plastic bag and then it is no problem. So I think Tucker is a little more mischievous than some.;) It is part of his charm:cat:

Not sure of options in Australia, but you can google “kitchen garbage can with latch” that you push latch closed so the lid “locks”or child proof garbage can may give you some options.
