After yesterday (first lime, skipped shot, and reducie)...I'm hesitant, but inclined to shoot this 118. Can monitor.

But if anyone happens to be around... thoughts appreciated!
Stalling and retesting 25 mins from first test, about 15 mins from this post.

Could be breaking a bounce. He could also be going down cause he hasn’t eaten in a while. That’s the potential down side to stalling. Plus it's within meter variance.

You said you feel like shooting? It is the weekend.

Food will bump him up and you have a couple hours until onset. However, the decision has to be yours. I wouldn’t stall any longer. Either shoot full dose, part dose, or skip. What are you up for?

Yes, he gets a little snack around +9.
I can monitor, want to shoot something. But unsure if the full 2.75 is dangerous?
I'm thinking 2u

I would get an early test, +1 and +2, to make sure food is halting the drop.

Maybe you just need to be testing differently. I liked a +9 or +10 test to give me a heads up on what might be coming up. Plus bounce breaking cycles can have later nadirs.

The good news is how quickly he is clearing bounces.

Yes! When I took the PS I kicked myself a bit for not getting a +10, but I had assumed he'd still be highish. Mistake made, lesson learned.

Short bounces are exciting. And now that the numbers are lower I am also better able to see how bounces differ from the flat high numbers we had for quite a while. So I am starting to understand what's going on... sort of. (Somehow it all flies out of my head when something new happens, but I'll keep reading and learning amap!)

You are doing a wonderful job with Fig! I hope his numbers continue to improve...with time you'll start to see trends, but to be perfectly honest it's their call and their game as to what's coming next - at least with Luci who took away my crystal ball the day she was diagnosed...I have a better feel for it now, but she still loves to pull out the greens whenever she feels like it, not when I'd like for her to do so...just be prepared to work with lower numbers - they're coming and you'll want to be solid on how and when to give insulin...Lantus likes consistency..so try not to change dose unless your protocol demands it (low numbers, etc.) and the time of day is important too...try to be as consistent as possible on the timing - I know if you're waiting it throws things off - and now tomorrow you've got to work back by 15 minute increments to your original times...but you'll get there.

Have a wonderful evening...hope it's not too wild and crazy for you :)

Ok he is 52! Breathing again for now and taking down the flag.
But since I am so early in the cycle, I'm wondering if I should feed more HC or MC? He usually gets LC at +3...

If it were my cat he would get some more hc and test again in 20/30. High carb can wear off so I'd want him up more than 50.

More HC given and happily recieved.
Because the HC wears off quickly, does it make sense to feed LC to keep him propped up through onset?
Just to be clear, I am on high alert! Will test in 20. He just finished eating.

I would hold off on feeding anything else until you get the next test. Then you may want to feed LC depending on what his number is.
That makes sense. Okay! Counting down... 15 mins to next test.

Usually it's just stressful for us and the cat is fine and wondering why we're acting crazy.
PS Carla I LOLd at this because yes, this was exactly the scene here :) thanks for that!

64 at +1:55. So a little bump keeping him up!

He is napping. My guess is that if I gave him HC he would eat it, but he may not be as interested in LC just yet.

That's better. Agree with Carla small snacks of LC. If he won't eat it after that yummy HC you could mix a little of the gravy into the LC that sometimes works for my gravy lover. You are doing a great job Momma bean.:bighug:

I'd see if you can get him to eat a teaspoon of LC to keep him surfing. If he won't eat it, you may need to give him HC. The idea is to keep him over 60 for two tests after feeding HC.

ETA: For two tests after the last feeding of HC.
Muahaha, he took the bait and had a bit of LC. Right, going to keep a hawk eye on him, try not to freak him out, and test in 20-30.

How're you holding up. I know when Jerry pulled these stunts in the beginning my adrenalin was pumping but he was stretched out looking comfy and looking at me as if I had lost my mind. Lmao.
He is has been giving me the side eye. "Just let me nap in peace! Oh, well... if there's food, okay"

I can't even tell you how much it helps to have you here! If I were on my own I'd be completely bananas! As it is, I feel in control, which is amazing. Definitely some adrenaline too!
ETA lots of adrenaline :nailbiting::eek::p

Right. These step by step targets are very helpful. And we are now at +2:15 so this dose may be kicking soon as well.

You'll be ready for a big glass of wine when alls said and done. I know the feeling of having someone here when you're dealing with a low. My 2nd time (and 1st when on the forum) I had a number of members stay with me for hours. It helps, so I'm happy you are not feeling alone.:bighug:
