Should I raise her insulin

I'm still at a loss. Looks like Mama Cat is still losing weight, I have no idea what else to try. I have no reason to believe there is anything else going on with her physically since she had her blood work done relatively recently and even a scan of her organs. She acts disoriented a lot, paces constantly, eats pretty much everything we put in front of her and will follow you into the kitchen when you're in there. She still drinks a lot, pees a lot and sometimes doesn't use the litter box. We feed her over 2 cans of friskies a day. Any thoughts, or is this just us having to maintain her quality of life at this point?

Did you ever get her thyroid checked?

Did you discuss trying a different insulin?

Do you have the data for the last couple of days? It looks like you're not testing before shooting. It's really important to always test before each shot and then get tests in between shots when you can (but always get a "before bed" test because most cats go lower at night so it's important for her safety)

I'm not being critical at all....we all just really want to help Mama Cat feel better as quickly as possible.

It's strange she has such symptoms. Her numbers really aren't terrible. I would consider trying a different insulin.

No worries about being critical ... I'm desperate for feedback.

Yes, her thyroid has been checked. I also had her checked for Cushings.

The last time I tested her was over the weekend ... 16, 17 and 18. I was told by many on this forum (and other sites), to test before feeding and if it was low, to test after feeding to see if it went up enough to make it safe to give insulin. I haven't been testing at bedtime because her numbers have been consistently high enough not to make me too nervous. If I do raise her insulin I would definitely test her to make sure she's okay.

How long has it been since her thyroid was tested? Thyroid hormone levels can vary over time so it may be necessary to check blood levels several times or perform a different test. Most vets start with a baseline T4 but some cats with all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, such as your Mama Cat, can have a normal or borderline T4. If it hasn't been done, consider having your vet do a thyroid profile test which measures several hormones and is less likely to be influenced by other illnesses. This test can provide a more accurate assessment of thyroid function.

Maybe she just needs more food. My cat is big, but he eats twice as much as the non diabetic cats.
