TYLER'S JOURNEY #8

You did shoot a 125 at 0.10u and it kept his pre-shot down but not sure if he hit green because it was on a night cycle. No bounce though so looks like he stayed pretty stable. You could also try 0.25u but I think even a skinny 0.5u might be pushing it a wee bit too much.

Yep you are right He had a 125 PMPS on 8-3-19 and a 129 on 8-4-19 AMPS and I shot 0.10 but no green both times. . I will stay with the 0.10 for this morning. Is the 0.10 just above the first long line on the syringe @MrWorfMen's Mom Sorry is it the first long line on the top of the syringe @MrWorfMen's Mom

Well you didn't see a green and I agree it's unlikely but still not out of the realm of possibility. He could have gone down a bit more from that 105 without your knowledge.

Got a couple of errands to run and need to do some tidying up like putting laundry from the weekend away. Was pooped Monday from the driving and being allergic to mosquitoes, I was itching like crazy till late yesterday and that was exhausting and very annoying. Got one bite on my finger and it was quite swollen. Finally coming down now. At least I didn't get a major reaction from any of the bites. You doing anything special today?

Ashley is just like you when it comes to mosquitoe bites, swells up like crazy.
No nothing exciting for me today. Tomorrow just going for my routine blood work. Wow exciting lol I really don't go out much because of Ashley, we never know when someone is going to start mowing their lawn or some kind of noise and have to leave the house asap. So I try to stay close if I have something to do. When she as able to go out before the rsd affected her ears was to go to Flea Markets , we both loved it. Just love old vintage things. Over the years she has a very big collection of things.
She misses it so much @MrWorfMen's MomDo you have any Flea Markets by you @MrWorfMen's Mom

WEDNESDAY 8-14-19 Hi Linda
PMPS - 151 .I looked at a night time PMPS on 8-2-19 that was 151 and I gave
a Fat 0.5 . Then on 8-5-19 night time PMPS it was 154 and that time I gave a Skinny
0.75 What do you think for tonight @MrWorfMen's Mom

Yeah! She is eating her food again although there is still a bit of reluctance. She wants her old food that her brother's are still eating and it breaks my heart not to be able to indulge her but all she gets of that is dregs that get dropped on the food mats if I don't intervene soon enough. I guess to some extent that is probably causing me issues with her but I don't own a castle and can only keep them separated for meals to a limited degree.

I can understand that when I feed Perry I have to put his food on the kitchen table . Tyler can't jump on the kitchen chair to get up in the table because of his hind legs. Sometimes when I do put Perry's dish on the floor , only because Tyler is laying down in another room , then Perry's done eating , Tyler will make a dash to the dish. Sometimes he sneaks over ,so now it's always on the tabet for Perry, I feel so bad I have to do that. If I do leave Perry's dish on the floor I have to sit there and wait till he's not eating and then pick it up. Boy can they drive you crazy. Did you read #65 by the way @MrWorfMen's Mom

Sorry Diane. I was a bit later getting online this AM and assume you've left. I agree trying the skinny 0.5u is fine. Doesn't look like Tyler did much on the lower doses at that pre-shot range.

Have you thought about giving Tyler some Zobaline for his legs? Not that you want him jumping on the table and yes it would mean more supervising of kitty dinner time on your part :woot: but it might help Tyler regain the strength in his legs if the problem is from neuropathy. His BG is well controlled at this stage and if it is neuropathy, I'd expect his legs should be improving and the Zobaline would just help speed that up.

I saw #65. Nice to know I'm not the only one allergic to mosquitoes but I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I finally found an anithistamine that helped and they have now taken it off the market. Nothing else works at all and sometimes the welts are inches in diameter and I could cook an egg on them. I'm told it depends on the variety of mosquito and thankfully whatever bit this time wasn't my worst nemesis.

We have flea markets and we used to go periodically but I haven't gone for years. I should do that again one day and see if they've changed at all. We have far fewer of them than we used to.

Does Ashley have any hobbies?

Hey Linda well Tyler hardly moved this morning at the skinny 0.5 just like the other time. Yes I have been giving him Zobaline since the day he was diagnosed. It has helped, he can jump onto the couch now and if he wants to lay on the kitchen counter I pick him up and put him there. I put a kitchen chair right there and he does jump onto it when he wants to get down. His back isn't that hunched like it was before and he is still walking on his hocks, but not as much as before. But when I show him the air freshener can which he hates, I told you about it, he does run pretty fast. Maybe this is the best his legs are going to get. I just added that he takes Zobaline to his signature at least we got a green last night @MrWorfMen's Mom

I too am a mosquito magnet, extra B vitamins don't help, non of the herbal repellents seem to either, only thing I've found is MaxiDeet which I hate to use

as an antihistamine, the Aller-Clear from Costco (loratadine generic) works about the best, and the Costco version is considerably cheaper than others

@MrWorfMen's Mom Hey Linda just checking to see if you might be around
Today gave Skinny 0.75 his AMPS was 155
Tested @+2 - 128 didn't feed anything
@+5 which was at 2:15 pm it was 141. He was looking to eat so I gave him some F F Pate
About a half hour later he threw it all up , then of course he was looking to eat about 20 minutes later.
I gave him about 10 pieces Dr Elseys Dry Chicken .
Threw that up, not much
Just around 4:45 pm he threw up a little clear foamy bile.
Once in a blue moon he might throw up.
@+8 -167
Not feeding him anything as of yet.
My question is what happens when I feed him around 8:30 pm
and he throws it up before I give him the insulin, how much do I give?

If he throws up after the insulin, will it still be in his system, dumb question right?
Other than that he's fine, playing, alert,
Also tested for ketones, Negative
What do you think @MrWorfMen's Mom @Bron and Sheba (GA)
@FurBabiesMama
I'm starting to worry ahead of time, like I said I will test him at 8:00 pm, them I feed him and by the time he gets done eating it's 8:30 pm and then I give his insuIns at 9:00 pm

I take it he was fine after his shot meal this morning. I wonder if he ended up with some acid build up from not eating between his shot meal and +5 if he is used to eating in between. If he was that hungry did he do a scarf and barf?
I'd suggest you give him a little snack now and see if he keeps it down. That gives you roughly 2 hours till pre-shot test time. If he doesn't eat/vomits at his 8pm pre-shot meal, since ketones are negative, I'd say skip his shot tonight. You can leave an hour between when he finishes his meal and giving insulin which should be lots of time to see if he's keeping his food down or not.

Hey Linda ,just got on, I haven't fed him anything as of yet , It's 7:30 pm right now, so I don't want to feed him anything since I will be testing him at 8:00 pm and then feed him. No he didn't scarf and barf when he ate @+5 @MrWorfMen's Mom He is sitting here waiting to be fed, oh and yes he was fine after his meal this morning.
Sorry I'm a little confused when you said if he doesn't eat/vomits at his 8 pm pre- shot meal, I'd say skip his dose tonight? I'm going to test him now, it's 8 pm, and then plan to feed him @MrWorfMen's Mom

My bad....should have said "Doesn't eat or vomits". Short form was confusing! Maybe he is trying to bring up a hairball. Mine always seem to have a bit of vomit before the actual hairball shows up.

Ok , lol just tested him
SATURDAY 8-17-19
PMPS - 146 going to see if he wants to eat right now, if he keeps it down what do you think I should go with, the Skinny 0.75 again.
Now if he throws it up then I should skip @MrWorfMen's Mom
Ok just got finished eating at 8:20 pm, boy he was hungry.
So now I'll see if he keeps it down.
If he does keep it down I will shoot at 9 pm. But how much, the Skinny 0.75 again.
If he throws it up, then Don't Shoot
So far so good he hasn't thrown up @MrWorfMen's Mom
