Smaller meals

How would I feed LT 4 smaller meals/day without getting up in the night in order to keep it all the same? Will smaller meals affect his BGs while I'm preparing for a curve on Thursday? I have Addison's disease and it's pretty important for me to get enough rest and getting up in the night really plays havoc with my energy levels.

Hi Suzanne, we bought a CatMate C20 timed feeder for use at night or when we would be gone at Idjit's mealtime. Lots of members who work or have the nighttime feeding issues used timed feeders to help out. Depending on budget and needs you can get a 2 portion or 5 portion feeder. Check out Cat Mate and Pet Safe brands and models.

Until you get a feeder, if that's an option for you, you can freeze wet food portions in an ice cube tray and put out a cube or two to thaw and kitty can eat during the night.

It is really important to get your rest so you can take good care of yourself, and LT.

I fed Max smaller meals during the first Hal’s if each cycle. It kept him more even plus he had chronic pancreatitis and was eating smaller meals for years before diagnosis of fd.
