I’m not sure if it’s the change in dose since using the calipers or the 9%.

Do you want to try and feed his normal LC and see if there is a change to the BG because my feeling is the dosing was off and he was sometimes getting too much insulin.

Paws crossed.

I was going to ask you that very question but decided to wait this cycle out. Since my eyeballing the 0.1 unit was so off I think I'm overdoing the carbs a bit. I'll go back to his regular 3% and see what happens. I test enough to see if he's dropping and can then intervene with the 9% if needed.

Gradually coming down. I think you are right @Marje and Gracie that the 9% was playing too much of the role in these numbers. His snacks since just before +6 have been 3% and his number at +8 is so much better already.
We need to save that 9% in case we need it. As I listed the other day, we had three things to deal with and we weren’t really sure what was causing the tanking numbers. But....now we know if we get back to the situation where he’s on a low dose but gets stuck between one and another, we can use the 9%.

I hope he does well tonight. It’s always a learning experience here. He must be pretty carb sensitive!!!

Yes I think he is carb sensitive. I know that a small amount of higher carbs can get his BG up significantly when he goes low if that's a way to judge it.
It was a good learning experience as I now know that 9% will work to get his BG up without going overboard with the HC when needed. I am happier that he's back in the blues though.

Me, too!
