Good morning everyone,
I thought I'd post a quick note before I'm off to work. Instead of working on another decrease, it looks like Lou needs an increase instead. :( He still sees green, but they're mostly in the 90s and he's been seeing much more blue. What are the guidelines for increasing in this situation (still seeing greens)? How long should I wait before I push him back up to 2.0u? I keep hoping he'll snap out of it, but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Thanks in advance for your help! I hope you all have a wonderful day and your kitties surf safely! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I’m not sure of the answer but I’m curious as well (still seeing greens)
Lou’s ss looks great
Have a great day Amanda

This is from the TR Protocol Sticky:

Increasing the dose:
  • Hold the dose for 3 - 5 days (6 - 10 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are less than 200 before increasing the dose by 0.25 unit.
    • if your cat is new to numbers under 200, it is recommended to hold the dose for at least 8-10 cycles before increasing.
    • when your cat starts to see nadirs under 100, hold the dose for at least 10 cycles before increasing.
It looks like you have room for an increase with his numbers being high greens. He may just need a little bump up to get his numbers back down.

Well, instead of expecting to see yet another day in the 90s-100s, Lou decided to finally work that insulin. It makes me wonder if perhaps I haven't been dosing him correctly (been having some issues with the markings being off on my syringes). It's frustrating because I'm really anal about it, and if the dose is off, it shouldn't be by that much. Ugh. Thanks for the information Carla. I was confused if I should hold him at these higher numbers for 10 cycles or if he just needed to be on the dose for 10 cycles. It's definitely new territory for us here. So I'll hope the dosecrease threat works for more than one cycle and he'll get to work on another reduction! Thanks everyone!
