I do believe in the power of our positive energies! It just has to be working!!! Sending our strongest healing vines to Australia for Tucker!!! We're all thinking of you Tucker and your mama too....come on baby...you can do this!!

Thank you @Bron and Sheba for the updates! I for one was very hopeful this morning that he would be alright! Sounds like he has a wonderful support crew there working hard to help him. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Such wonderful news!!! Thank you @Bron and Sheba! You are a wonderful friend to Patty, Tucker and all of us who are glued to this thread. I love that Tucker is purring for the vets! He knows he's getting the help he needs. And I hope he feels SO MANY VINES that he can't begin to count them all and he just feels incredibly loved by the international Team Tucker!
Patty, if you are reading this, when I had a cat who needed a feeding tube it sounded scary to me, but it was not a big deal at all. I just had to buy a blender because I didn't own one, but Pumpkin tolerated it very well and it was temporary until he was able to eat enough on his own again, which I'm guessing will be the case with Tucker. Please know that you are an AMAZING mom to Tucker and your love and care are pulling him through!:bighug:

The vet rang earlier this evening and said Tucker was a bit more stable and they wanted Patty to bring in his favourite food cans and they would put Patty and Tucker in a private room and see if she could get him to eat. They will put in a feeding tube if he still isn't interested. They said he is not out of the woods but is fighting. They told Patty his prognosis is "cautious" and not to get her heart set on his recovery.
They seem to be lovely and send her photos of Tucker with messages from him....so sweet.
He has his own bed from home in there so that will be a comfort for him.

I've been waiting to post, hoping Patty would tell me how he went with eating, and she has just sent me a couple of videos which I will try and upload. I have had trouble lately with uploads but will try.
It looks as if he has eaten and he was cleaning himself enthusiastically which is a good sign.
Patty said he did a loud fart after eating which is good...hopefully moving things along.
They have been in the private room for 2 hours with him.

I can't upload the videos. I will try on another device

I so happy for Tucker , keeping fingers crossed he continues to improve. Look at that precious face. I'm so happy that Patty was able to spend 2 hours with him. Thank you Bron for all the updates, what a wonderful friend you are to Patty. The vets look like they are doing everything they can and are so sweet sending Patty pics of Tucker

I can’t get the video to transfer over. I’ll try again in the morning. It’s after midnight here.
Just had a message come through from Patty. Here it is copied and pasted

‘They couldn't believe how excited he was to see us, he sort of launched out of their arms at us. Lots of head boops and he just nuzzeled right into my neck. He ate the better part of two cans so that's thrilled them. When I got there the vet in charge said Tucker's BG had come down to 5, but he adjusted his drip to hold him at 8.’

Patty said another cat has just arrived in by ambulance. It was hit by a car, poor thing.

Tucker is in a private suite with low light and soft music playing. Patty said it is very soothing.

Patty really appreciates all the love and prayers and vines being sent. She’s just not up to posting at the moment. Please keep sending them. I’m sure they are working.

Poor sweet boy, so glad to hear there are positive things happening now and he is under good care. Rest and heal Tucker. :bighug:

I've just heard from Patty. I didn't like to ring her as I thought she might be sleeping after such a long night.
TUCKER MADE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT!
I can't tell you how relieved I was to hear from her and hear that.
She has just given approval for a full body ultrasound and they want to insert a feeding tube if the ultrasound doesn't show up anything too lethal. They put him on an insulin drip because the pancreatitis is throwing him all ove the place. He's on strong pain meds and because he is so unstable he has a vet, not a vet nurse, with him all the time.
They want to make sure there isn't other organ failure happening.
They have not suggested euthanasia but have said they need the unltrasound to look at the rest of him in case he is shutting down.
The vet said he is a very sweet boy and purrs when she pats and talks to him.
As long as he is not being treated Patty can visit anytime and she spent several hours with him earlier and he knew her and tried to get to her.
Please keep the prayers, vines coming. He needs them all and I'm sure the magic of this board is working
Bron, you are such a godsend for Patty to help guide her and to keep us all posted. I know you must be through the ringer too as your caring is second to none!

Bron - Thanks for posting those amazing videos of Tucker. It's not hard to post, once you know where all the hidden menus are.
He is looking good and responsive. I really hope he pulls through this little slump.:bighug:

Theresa watched the vids with me, and she said "no Aussie accent". I reminded her that Patty is from the U.S.

This is SO heart warming. What are the next steps now?
They are hoping he will continue to eat so the feeding tube won't be needed. He'll eat for Patty but she's not sure he will eat for them.
I would imagine he will need to stay on a drip and pain meds etc for a while because his pancreas is so swollen and angry. And he's on an insulin drop at the moment too. They did a repeat fPLI test but don't think the result is in yet.
They said his prognosis is cautious so I think it is one day at a time at the moment.

All thanks to you Jeff. I just kept getting baulked at every turn....you made it easy!
Yes Tucker looks good. Patty said the extra pain meds that they increased to when they saw how swollen the pancreas was, has made a big difference.

Jeff has been helping me get this uploaded. Jeff thanks for your great patience. If this doesn't work I will send to you. Thank You!!

What a great video! It warms my heart to see Tucker so responsive! And then I get angry at the vet that said to euthanize! Glad you didn’t listen! And so glad to see a face to your name Patty!

Hi Bobbie, I get so angry also when I think of that vet that said to euthanize. Piece of garbage. When Tucker does pull through this and returns home, I would have to go and lay into that vet and tell him maybe he should go back to vet school. Bubba is such a gorgeous kitty. Maybe that was a blessing that the other vet didn't want to treat him because he probably didn't even know what to do, thank God for the vet at the Specialist Hospital.

When Tigger had to be brought to the ER vet we didn't know how serious it was, and my mother drove him there for us as we went to work like a regular Monday morning. When we got there they were saying less than 50/50 chance just by looking at him. He was so bad (DKA) they couldn't start Insulin drip cause he needed fluids and other stuff first (not sure what). The minute Tigger saw us he changed completely. Even the vets were like "whoa, different cat." They literally said ... "okay, maybe better than 50/50" . . . NEVER underestimate the power of LOVE. The same vet gently hinting at euthanasia changed her tune when she saw Tig head bumping us and heard him purring. You got this Tucker! Be strong. Hold on to each other. Fight the good fight as long as you can. SO many people, whom you can't even fathom, are pulling for you!!!!!!
