Hey all, Rufus had good numbers on current dose first day on this dose, last Sunday. Numbers went up after that. Thought it was a bounce, but numbers stayed fairly high even though we did get down in to some pinks. Plan was to increase today, but then I caught him eating Ozzies dry kibble yesterday afternoon. Took a couple huge mouthfuls, too. Thought for sure numbers would be off the chart so I didnt even test after PMPS last night. Well, Rufus feels the need to keep me on my toes. This AM, his pre-shot was 142!!! I gave him his food because I was running late because of fluids for Ozzie. I wasn't going to give his 2u, but I decided to test again. It was 146. I decided to give to him because I'll be home all day until dinner time tonight. @Wendy&Neko thoughts?

I'm wondering if the increase is due to his delicious doggy food breakfast??

I know that can be challenging (Luci likes to get into contraband all the time)...you are really going to have to figure a way to seal up that delicious doggy food or find a separate feeding zone for your pups...because you have a challenger - diabetic cats crave carbs just like diabetic people do - protein packed cat food is so much better for him and you won't see as many of those crazy numbers - but of course - that being said, there's never any guarantee that those yellows aren't just his BG doing it's usual thing...

First things first though - get that food away from Mr. Rufus (love the name, I had a Rufus once. He was a huge white Persian and he was deaf)...and mean... but I loved him anyway... Rufus McGruder - may he rest in peace... :)

Sorry, should have written it better, I'm going to fix it now. He had some of Ozzie's (other kitty) food at 6pm yesterday, so I dont think it's going up today from that. I was thinking it was going to be high today from it, but it started blue!

I do have a way to seprate the food. Actually, I have 2 sureflap feeders, but Rufus is scared of it. Ugh. Anyways long story short, usually Rufus can not get to Ozzies food, but I forgot it out.

Rufus McGruder! Love it! My Rufus is so special to me. Such a personality!

Sometimes it takes awhile for the dose to take hold. Perhaps 2.0 will end up being the dose that works best for Rufus. That blue is looking good.

I wonder if he snuck any other food this week - which would have affected his numbers.

I am pretty confident that he didn't sneak any other food this week. I have Ozzies food on a table, that Rufus doesn't go up on. I do have Wyze camera I can set up over there to watch the bowl and make sure Rufus isn't going up there!

Sugar cats have special radar for detecting any carb food out. I've heard it from so many owners here. And Leo would find the carb food in 2 minutes after Chinus stopped eating. I had to watch all of them finish, then pick up any carb food - wet or dry.
