Rufus is hanging steady in these ugly numbers. I guess at least he's consistent. :)

Please keep my other boy Ozzie in your thoughts. He had bloodwork done last night. Won't know results until Thursday. These numbers this time are really important and will tell us a lot about his well being. He went into renal failure around memorial day, and has been improving, but need to make sure were still going in right direction.

Get well soon Ozzie!! Mowgli and I are sending all the positive thoughts and vibes we can your way :)

Rufus! Slide down and show us what you can do!!

He is in some better ugly numbers! This is only the 2nd cycle with the 1.5 dose. Maybe by the end of tonight's cycle you'll see him coming down a lot more .

Vines for Ozzie! It is very draining when two cats need our attention. Hang strong, Sean. :bighug:

Sorry I missed the history. How did he get to this? I see he was OTJ last year and doing so well.

Healing vines for your other kitteh. I hope Ozzie has a treatable condition.:bighug:

Thanks :) Not sure what happened with Rufus. He was great for 14 months. Checked 2 times per month. Always great numbers. Week before Memorial weekend my other cat started not eating great, but was still his spunky self. On Sunday before Memorial day, I thought I better go to ER and see if he was sick. Creatinine was 21.5! He was there for 5 days on constant IV drip. When he came home, Rufus wanted nothing to do with him. Not sure if it was because Ozzie was sick, or because Ozzie smelled like the ER and all the animals there. Anyways, checked Rufus' BG 2 weeks ago, and it was 533! So, Rufus went off the juice last year because of a dental. We are hoping that another dental will do the same. He does have resporption issues. Not sure if that and stress from Ozzie contributed, or what's going on. Now I have 2 sick kitties :(

Sorry to hear that Sean. What a challenge. I wonder if some common change happened to both of them - like a food change.

High BG can happen from an infection too, including urinary tract infections.

My cats (when Leo was alive) - none of them liked receiving the returned cat from the vet office. I think the smell from the vet office can be confusing to them, and they all go on the defensive.

I hope your kittehs get better. That high BG is making ketones, and with luck the ketones should resolve when he gets regulated again.:bighug:

Thanks Jeff. Nothing really changed around here, except Ozzie started a new med that was was supposed to help with protein in urine. Not sure if that caused it. Never will know. Really scary how it all happened so fast.

Again, I am so so sorry to hear about Leo. I know how much he was loved, and he will forever be in your hearts.
