Help for Molly #12

I gave her some FF with a TBSP of the higher carb. She was pretty hungry. Tested her 20 min later she was 4. But I left out some food with a little bit of the higher just in case. I was pretty upset :(. Now why is she being a roller coaster past week? I also posted help on the forum and a lady helped me. I was freaking out!

Adrienne, just curious about whether you left food out for Molly to eat in your absence and if so whether she ate it. She was down a tad at +2 but not a lot....and that difference could have just been meter variance. But now we know that if she is down even a tiny bit, she may be having a more active cycle. Take her down to a drop dose tonight. She definitely earned it.

I'm glad you posted and got some help. Those lime green numbers are scary but she was right on the edge of dark green and from my experience, our meters read low at that BG range so it looks a little worse than it is. Many normal cats run in the 40s but we try to avoid letting our kitties go that low when they are on insulin.

She is doing what you want her to do. She is learning that more normal BG is a good rather than bad thing and so her defences aren't kicking in as swiftly or as rambunctiously.

I fed her breakfast this morning. I always leave food out for her. Before I leave for work. But this morning she ate it. When I was walking out the door. I think I'm going to have to bring the food timer dishes out again? Set for 9 am or 10am. Also thinking of buying a camera so I can spy on her while I'm at work.

A timed feeder might be a good idea just so you know she has some extra food to eat while you are gone. If she has dropped before you leave the house, you could leave her some higher carb food to slow her down.
Yes I think a new thread would be a good idea.
