Just diagnosed Acro - Levemir vs. Lantus?

Hello! We'll be talking to our vet in a few hours, and from my post in the Acro forum (with the help of Wendy&Neko, among others), I think we've decided on a switch from ProZinc to Levemir. I've read through most of the stickies here and on the acro forum, but just wanted to ask if anyone had input and/or questions/info we should share with our vet, or any opinions on Levemir vs. Lantus. Thank you bunches; we were just diagnosed Friday and I just want to be prepared for our chat with the vet.

Edit: Omg, I didn't realize Levemir was so expensive. I'll have to look for info about where you all get your insulin. We're considering radiation therapy for the tumor which is beyond expensive, so it all adds up. :(

Many on here order from https://rxcanada4less.com/search.php

We did both Lantus and Levemir. Neko's cycles were flatter and much more predictable (as much as a cat can be :cat:) on Levemir. I think she got better duration on Lev.

Levemir has a later onset and nadir, which worked well for me. If you do ever decide to try R, it's typically given at the same time as the L, and the later onset is an advantage. The R action is generally not overlapping any Lev action.

That’s interesting. I think I will try it eventually if needed, but probably a couple weeks into recovery from my surgery so I can really focus on doing it right.
