Jack number is closer to 50 than I like.

Yesterday I started to introduce food mid-day so he didn't eat as much as normal for the evening feeding. Maybe that is why is a little lower the morning?

Happy Day 12!!! In looking at your spreadsheet, it looks like you're missing days during your trial (6/21 - 6/27). Remember that cats not on insulin can regularly go lower than what we'd consider normal for a cat on insulin. There are some non-diabetics that are regularly in the 40s and are perfectly fine. You can't go hypo if you're not on insulin, so don't worry if Jack decides to go lower. Your change in feeding could definitely help the AMPS be lower. Food can help stimulate the pancreas to get to work, resulting in lower BGs. Jack is looking fantastic though. Only 2 days to go!

Oh thank you for this. I am relieved to hear that no hypo if not on insulin.

Yes, Jack's timing couldn't have been worse for me. I had to go out of town for a week and the day we left was the day we went to 0 insulin. The petsitter (vet tech) had trouble testing Jack, so we didn't get any numbers and he has had no insulin since the 20th.

I also started him on Zobaline as he was starting to go down on his front paws and am happy to report he is back on his toes in front and the back is getting better as well.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

That's good to know. I would still include those days and just have the 0 insulin/No shot with a note about the petsitter. Not like it fully matters in the grand scheme of things, but it might be nice to avoid confusion. I am SO happy to hear Jack is doing better walking! I hope he continues to improve.

Great advice. Will update SS today.

ALMOST THERE! HAPPY DAY 12! GO JACK!

SO HAPPY for you and Jack the Cat!! So exciting to be at day 12!!!!!! Do you mind if I ask what you feed him?

I've been feeding him I and Love and You Purkey Turkey or their Chicken Me Out pate for 3 years or so - basically as a treat in the morning and evening. I left out their Surf N Chick dry food for daytime grazing.

The only change I've made to his diet is eliminating the dry food and increasing the amount of wet from a quarter 3 0z can to a full can twice a day and adding some shredded chicken or turkey to boost the protein.

Am just so please with my boy!
