My phone got lost in my comforter, so I didn't hear my alarm! Woke up at 7:47, so the AMPS shot was 1 hour late... And his AMPS was... BLUE (!)

Meesta Simmy is just letting you know he's in charge and is taking a little beach break - maybe he's visiting @Bellasmom - the tiki hut - it's beautiful and is good for kitties who may need a little break from all the lagooning - and he's been doing a lot lately. I just hate being late with the shot - now you know you have to wait tonight and back up to your normal time by 15 minute increments - it sure throws things off doesn't it?

Simmy needs to get that furry butt right back into the water! Hehe. Yes, it's very annoying. I feel like so much of this success is dependent upon a tight schedule/routine! My understanding is that instead of 15 minute increments, I can do 30 minutes? How does it work again?

Thanks Sue!

Since you shot at 8 this morning, tonight should be 7:45, tomorrow morning 7:30, tomorrow evening 7:15...

Shooting early is like an increase and he’s so close to good numbers I’d hate to see you rock the boat... these things happen... just a couple of days and your schedule will be back to normal... good ole Lantus loves consistency...:cat:

What times do I shoot if I want to do the one hour increment?

+3 was 115!!! I feel like crap!!! :arghh:

Boy, you get back into those greens right now!!!

Don't feel like crap. Life happens and cats...well they kind of live in the moment so don't worry.

If you shot @ 8 this morning your can do 730 tonight. Then 700 tomorrow morning. Just remember these earlier shots can act like an increase.

I'm just being dramatic, but also not really because I actually am pretty upset that I missed my alarm. Haha. Thanks! I will follow this schedule.

You may want to read this info - http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/getting-back-on-a-12-12-shot-schedule.101059/ - How to get back on your schedule. Just to clarify what you're going to do this evening. I personally would not want to shoot 1/2 hour early - because I wouldn't want to be on pins and needles half the night - as that is only 11.5 hours after the AM dose - so tonight's PM dose will act like an increase...best to read and decide for yourself what you're comfortable with.

I have to go with 7:30—my family is already very pissed and annoyed. My brother is in town from Las Vegas with all my nieces and nephews and I've held up a few dinners or left abruptly in the 2 weeks they've been here. I mean, I get it—nobody wants to eat dinner at 8 and especially since there are starving children.

Unfortunately, they're not very sympathetic to Simmy's situation. They're of the he's just a cat! mentality. They will be eating when I arrive... But I'll be home within 2 hours to test and monitor.

I had help when my ex-girlfriend of 7 years lived with me, but I've been doing it alone for the last 2 years.

I hear ya...

I have had to take Luci along to a few family gatherings... she stayed in her carrier in a guest room... and I could do what I needed to do and keep the family happy at the same time...it’s certainly a lot of extra with a diabetic kitty... gotta do what works for you... fingers crossed that Simmy will be safe tonight...
