Sir Rumpy's Next Adventure June 10-15, 2019

Poor little Rumpy, the world turned upside down. I know he's in a good place and in good hands, and he will come to know that too. Thanks so much for all the updates, I have watched Rumpy's progress since Shelly first joined and it's good to still be able to follow along. :cat:

Looks like this is going to be a good dose for depot build and supporting a good glucose cycle. We have a nice onset off that 267 at AMPS with a +4 of 180 and +6 of 124. That's a nicer slide than yesterday's dive. Today is still only using a small portion of that f.25 so still a sniggly bit of concern that this is still a 'fat' too much at least. We'll see how the day plays out.

Just caught up on everything. I am so happy to hear he is becoming more vocal. That was my favorite thing about him. We would have conversations haha!
Rumpy has more love than I ever thought he would. I am thankful to be able to check in and know how he is doing

Oh he IS a mouthy one. I just plain laugh - when all finally settles down and integration is complete, he and Snow are going to have quite the conversations. Snow has more sounds than any cat I've ever heard. Different sounds mean different things, I've figured out a few. He used to talk back to Dakota but Dakota wasn't very 'conversational'. These 2 are going to be a hoot, probably a really loud one.

This last test, instead of half climbing in and picking him up, I held out my hands, he came to me. Grumbled about it but willingly came. He now lays down for his test - I get on the floor with a sheet, originally had to wrap him a bit but it's now the 'test spot'. He did get his first 'out' time for about 20 mins before he got a bit antsy - all the others were asleep at the other end of the house. Gosh he's one strong muscular boy! Build like a bulldog :)

HUGS!

We close out a beautiful day with a PMPS of 154 (about 25pt-ish food influenced), a lot of progress, lots of eating, beautiful run of numbers on a single dose of Lev f.25. I removed the 'fat' touch off tonight's dose. This shot starts building the depot on this morning's shot. This morning's dose precipitation gives him a touch more than just that injected .25 to deal with.... This will even out as the depot is full established.

Sleep well - Sir Rumps just hollered (and boy does he!) ROOERWER...whatever that means. :)

Well done , Lyresa, very well done :bighug: Oh, and you too , Rumpy ❤️

AMPS 148!

Sir Rumps sends very LOUD greetings this morning - the kind that means 'Hey MamaBean - I haz a BIG hungry!' Don't know why as I was up at 4am testing and feeding. That 94 was a nice surprise on just .25u of Lev. Ketones neg. I 'reinstalled' the '4am feeding light' to it's 'proper' place hanging on my cabinet door knob. :) He grumbled about testing this morning and I'm still perfecting my shooting technique with a really short haired kitty. It's SO much easier to shoot long haired ones! I have to grab/roll a couple of times before I get a good shot spot. He's sort of funny - he anticipates and 'flinches' before I even get close with the shot. I stop, settle him down a bit and roll while petting, shoot and pet - he doesn't even react to the REAL shot. Goofball!

Have a wonderful day - since I STILL haven't changed my sig, here's the link to his beautiful ssheet again:

@Jill & Alex (GA) - :bighug: fingernails finally getting a bit longer now that you can quit biting them? :)

Happy to hear things are going well for Mr. Rumps! :)
Have to make my comments short... leaving on a jet plane.

Truthfully? I'm definitely optimistic, but can't stop biting my nails quite yet.

As a former DKA kitty, stress from a new environment, switching insulin, combined with the substantial dose reduction... we both know he's not out of the woods. After all, up until a few days ago he was a tightly regulated kitty. At this point, he remains at an increased risk for developing ketones, BUT every single day without is HUGE!

Fingers & paws crossed. Wishing the best for Mr. Rumps! :cat:

I don't know if anyone ever asked Shelly for a 'Whole Cat Report' but, if not, someone should have long ago. He's still completely down on his hocks and should have started B12 weeks ago. It's bad enough that he's having a touch of trouble walking very fast at all. :( I can only give so much B12 and time - makes me sad but other than that, he's feel well.

+3 - 138

We close out the evening with a bit higher PMPS of 178 - influenced by baby sheep. :) I ran out of his boar treats, couldn't get any in BiggerPodunkOkla on my trip north today so having to give Lamb. They're higher carb and didn't realize it until I saw that number. I'll have to use sparingly as this is the only thing I have and can't get more until my shopping trip south Monday.

Sweet boy is curled up in his blanket already - sounded his good nights not too long ago. May you sleep well, see you in the morning...

HUGS!
