Didn't expect a 43 at +6 !
I'm getting ready to take Peggy Sue to the DR. & have her tooth checked. Last minute I decided to check Ravan before I leave. When I get back Ravan is going
to Vet to get his BP checked. I gave him a spoon of 12% carbs, I'll be back in an hour to get him. Vet is only 5 mins away.

I hope his BP is down. Last time we checked it was still high 170.

Ravan did good his BP is just about right. A little high from being in the car & at the vet.

Peggy SUE's mouth is a mess. Vet said she definitely needs a dental & maybe a few teeth pulled! I am SCARED to DEATH!! Appointment for next Tuesday!

She's been in such a good mood & playful, eating good. If something happens to her I'll never forgive myself. I just read about someone's cat having a routine dental & they broke it's jaw pulling a tooth!

I'm tempted to let her be. She's so Happy lately.

I've been crying since I got home. Don't know what I should do.

Is the dental next Tuesday? There are a whole lot more successful dental stories than there are bad ones. Peggy Sue will feel so much better after her mouth is taken care of. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I agree with Carla. She may be doing ok right now but you don't want her in pain and not eating which is probable should you not get it taken care of.

Did you discuss your concerns with the vet?

Glad to hear Ravens BP is down. Yay! Still only 1/4 tab? Gizmo's continued to improve and was normal but took a few months.

I agree with what's been said. I know it's scary and nerve-wracking having one of our babies at the vet for a procedure but it sounds like Peggy Sue really really needs this dental and you don't want her to be in pain and unable to eat at some future time.

Yes, I told him I so afraid she won't make it with the anesthesia. He told me there will be 3 people in the room (2 drs.) they will watch her closely & do only what's needed.

I believe him about being very careful but I've had some horrible experiences with my animals. I had to go to counselling several times. I feel I'm 100% responsible for their care. When something bad happens I can't get it out of my mind that I made the wrong decision.

Right now she's Happy & eating, very playful! If something were to happen I'll feel I again made the wrong decision. Her life is my responsibility.

I brought a copy of Ravan's SS. Dr. was so impressed he asked me if i would be willing to talk to people that he's diagnosed their cat with Diabetes? I told him I'd be honored to give them information about the feline diabetes website. And to tell them about my experience.

He said nearly all the cats he diagnosed with diabetes were euthanized. People are overwhelmed with all the work it takes.

He has an older man ,a diabetes specialist, that comes in occasionally to advise people. He said his associate is impressed with how much I've done with helping Ravan. I told him ,it's not me , it's the dedicated people on the web site that help us get thru all the things needed.
If I can get one person to NOT euthanize their diabetic cat I'll be happy.

Sending lots of beautiful dental vines for Peggy Sue. She'll do OK. Before we adopted Rusty he had had 10 extractions (life on the streets left him with many broken teeth). He only had 5 teeth for the years he lived with us and never had a problem eating. Cats are strong.

Great story about your vet and diabetes. Just think of the lives you can save if you convince people not to euthanize their feline diabetic.
