With a heavy heart we will be saying goodbye to Forrest at 3 pm. He is escalating in decline, losing control of his hind legs, losing weight, and seems to be uncomfortable with his inability to stay in one position. My heart is very heavy.
 
So sorry for you to have to say goodbye to Forrest! Such a hard decision to take, but I'm sure you took the right one for him! Prayers :bighug:

My heart hurts for you and I am in tears. I am so sorry it is time for Forrest.

Some how I think he will find Gizmo at the rainbow bridge and will get along and have a fine time together. :bighug::bighug:

So very sorry to read about Forrest Bobbie, I wish him a peaceful crossing and lots of love and comfort to you and family at home. He was a fortunate kitty to live with you and Bubba, and you were fortunate to have him in your life. :bighug:
 
Thank y'all so very much for the Love! I felt it. Rough day! Saying goodbye to Forrest was very very hard. He was such a sweet cat and so stoic and brave. I have a hole in my heart. All the vets in the practice and the techs gathered around him while his IV was being placed and told him that he was such a brave boy and so handsome. Great send off...

On an up note, Bubba did great at the vets. He lost 3 more teeth! Yikes, I brushed them 2 times a week. Got to start doing more often I guess. And some more good news, his PMPS was 129! So, I am hoping that I can expect him to fully recover from the stress . That boy wanted to eat badly!

At the vets today, I picked up Bubba after we said goodbye to Forrest. Bubba was in the room and I had reservations about that, but the vet that sent Forrest to the other side thought it would be helpful to Bubba to not wonder where Forrest was. He sensed he was in the room with him.

ETA: Forrest passed his face in my right hand and me kissing him on his head as he passed.

I’m so very sorry Bobbie, my deepest condolences for the loss of your dear Forest. I know you loved him a lot and this must have been a terribly difficult decision for you to have to make but you did it because you loved him so much and wanted to keep him from suffering.

Poor Bubba losing teeth and Forest, what a sad day for him too.

Nooooooooooooo! Oh Bobbie, too much in one day - I am so sorry to hear this, Bubbs will be in mourning too, so you both need to console each other - always so difficult - I am sorry to hear this. :bighug::bighug:

Mmm, Bubba can still see him, so he already knows that Forrest is gone, but it was kind for the vet to think in that manner. Forrest's face in your hand - how comforting to him while being loved, that was so powerful to him, thank you for sharing that precious moment. :bighug:

Stay close to Bubbs, both of you can use the comfort.
 
Oh Bobbie, I am so sorry it was Forrest's time to leave you. It's obvious how much you loved that boy and my heart aches for the pain you must be experiencing right now. I thought so too. My first impression was to spare Bubba of the process. But, I am very glad that we included him. Animals are very knowing. I hope that it helped Bubba's process. My last vision of the two of them was last night on my bed where they were preening each other. ugh.

Oh Bobbie, my heart aches for you. I am so sorry to hear that Forrest has passed. cat_wings>oIt is so good he was loved so much to the very end by both humans and Bubba. Years ago when we helped one of our dogs pass, the vet said to have her sister in with her so she would know what happened. It was a good decision.
I’m glad all went well with Bubba.

Bobbie, I’m so sorry about Forrest. What a horrible position that you were put in, but how lovely for Forrest to pass in the presence of the people (and cats) he loved the most, in a humane way. It was a selfless thing to do.

Bobbie, I just saw this and I am actually balling my eyes out reading this. I'm so sorry hearing about Forrest, my heart goes out to you and Bubba. I'm glad Bubba's dental procedure went well. Just reading that you had your babies face in your right hand and kissing him just made me cry. It's the worst part of being a pet parent. Gentle hugs
