You can either cook your own in water, drain and mash. Nothing else added. Freeze in ice cube trays and use as needed. Or you can buy canned pumpkin in the US. Only buy plain canned pumpkin, nothing else added. Freeze left over pumpkin and use as needed. I give 1/2 to a teaspoon a couple of times a day in food when needed. It’s good for constipation and diarrhoea.

Good luck with the pumpkin, it always works really well with Leo. I buy pure pumpkin in a can and put little dollops (about a half a teaspoon each) on a cookie sheet, freeze them and then transfer to a freezer bag after they're frozen.

Okay! I will try this today when I can pick some up.

+2.5 was 115 fed a teaspoon of LC cause he was hungry

Thank you so much!

Rumpys +4.5 was 62

Should I give him a teaspoon of the mix with 9% carb?
I would say since he isn't in the danger zone yet try his normal LC food and see if you can get him to surf the greens, test again in 20-30 mins to see if he's holding

Look at Rumpy clearing that bounce!!

He may learn how nice it is to be in those pretty green numbers!

Just a little of his regular low carb food..we want to support him without giving him too much

He’s behaving perfectly normal. Seems hungry. Can I feed him a little more than a teaspoon? I usually
Leave some down for work when I leave anyway.

You can feed a couple, but you don't want to feed him too much in case he does start to dive. Then you'll want him to have space for the med - high carb foods.

Agh that makes sense. But keep his normal LC food?

I would keep LC food for now, I'm not 100% but you are likely close to Rumpy's nadir so hopefully he will start to go up. If he goes below 50 you might want to consider using your med-high food... just a little at a time so he doesn't get full. I'm not an expert in these matters so I will tag this for @Chris & China (GA) since she is well experienced :)

Greens are good for Rumpy, instead of reacting right away with HC we try and get our cats to surf the dark greens by managing it with LC... that being said your 9% carbs is within the diabetic cat threshold so if you're getting uncomfortable I'm sure that it would be ok to use that to try and steer Rumps in the right direction :)

His +6 is 61 and just fed his LC
Awesome! it looks like hes on his way up, good job steering his curve with food! this could be a very nice surf :D. I would grab a +7 to confirm that Rumpy is still on the way up and that the 61 isn't just a food bump :)

Thank you!

I’d go with a couple teaspoons normal for now and see how it goes. The drop from 88 to 64 isn’t too drastic but could signal some action later on. You might be in for a long night. o_O

Also, tonight if Rumpy does go low make sure you put a ‘?’ On your title so anyone who is around will know you have a question, and if he goes into light green (below 50) change it to ‘911’ so someone with more experience can guide you through it. When they feel you’re no longer in a danger zone they will ask you to take the ‘911’ down.

Hopefully you won’t have to worry about anything like that :)

Can you test at +3? I usually look for more than 20% drop at +2 which can indicate a more active cycle. It is still early, and he may still drop some more, so it's often better to catch them as they are dropping vs. waiting to test, then needing to intervene with higher carbs.

Looks like Rumpy is targeting a reduction!

I think you’ll have to watch him for a bit tonight since he is going down at a good pace. Definitely grab a +4 and if he goes below 5o I would give him a tsp if your med carb 9%

I have to go to bed, but remember to change your title if you get in a tough spot to a question mark. You can also put a little descriptor saying something like “ rapid BG decline, support needed”

I’m sure everything will go well tonight. :)

Agree with Amanda, you'll need at least a +4. Mav is having some fun with the sharkies tonight, so I'll try and check back with you in an hour, since I can't go to bed yet anyway :)

Nerve-wracking (when it’s happening for me at least,) but nice looking numbers! Hope he surfs his nadir kindly and stays up where you need.

+6 70

Since it started to come up I can sleep now?

If he’s only had LC and he’s still coming up and you trust his patterns... yeah I’d maybe leave a snack out and get some rest!

ETA: but then take my advice with the grain of salt it is worth, not as experienced as some. But were I in your situation, what I said is what I would probably do.
