This is nuts. She seems back to normal, climbing my leg for food even though she she just ate, but her glucoses are all over.

On 6 units, had to give 3 units cuz no one home to monitor, back to 6 for 3 cycles, definitely to much. Then sick, not eating give 3 again. Finally eating at night, so 6 is too much, 3 isn't enough (or I didn't think it could be) so went with 5 units (thinking we will work from that). And what does she do overnight (not bad but a bit to close to limes for me yet)..... Being the depot is all messed up what do I do this morning knowing some of the higher dose is still active. So went back to 3 units and hoping to hold that to get depot stabilized again and work from there. It won't be a first time we've had to go back up. Anytime she 6.5 units of less it seems to send us back up into the 7-8 unit range. And any little upset throws her into pinkies. Don't know if this is right or wrong thing to do, but I don't know what else to do.

Also noticed since she has been blue/green, less insulin (7.25 units or less) she isn't leaving tufts of fur all over the house.

Gosh! I am new so I have no advice, but I imagine it must be very frustrating. I'm SO glad to hear that she seems like herself today. Hang in there.

@J.J. and Phoebe Squeak J.J. You will get there hang in. Squeak is newly diagnosed and as we say around here, she hasn't read the manual yet.

Ollie is an acro kitty (being treated) and in chronic p'titis flares so very unpredictable. Any little change can set either condition into a spin.

I’m so glad that Olive is feeling better! What a relief! I wonder what that whole thing was about ?

Hope you guys have a great Monday :)

What a hard day you had yesterday! You did a wonderful job! So happy that little Olie is back to her normal self! :bighug:
I'm far from a pro... but the first thing I would do is stabilize the depot otherwise you don't know where you're going, up and down! Then you can adjust and go back up safely!
Hope you'll have a beautiful day Paula! :)

I'm beginning to think it was the Friskies food. Even mixed in with the old, it just didn't agree with her. I've should have known but trying to add 2 new flavors (food) into the rotation as they (all 4) are Getting bored with the same 2.

That's what I'm going to do with the 3 units (hopefully). I did consider that last night but thought to much of a reduction.

You suspected that right at the beginning, since there doesn’t seem to be any other issues I think you have a very believable theory. To the back of the shelf with that friskier!!

So annoying about them getting bored with their typical flavours. Mowgli has been sick of chicken pate lately but I already have a bunch of it so I’ve been hiding it in his more preferred flavours!

Thank goodness I only got 2 cans to try.

There is a new one out here, only in one grocery store that 3 of them love. It says "compare to FF) so I'm thinking it's FF rebranded. Only in couple of flavors mostly fish which I won't give. So it's the chicken pate. It's called Paws and it's made in Canada. I figured it out to be 3% (like FF) and it certainly hasn't caused spikes in glucoses. It's even moistier than FF. Just which I could get more of it or even other flavors and it's cheaper than FF by $0.10 cents a can.

You might by right! I just saw this concerning Friskies on the Consumer Affairs site!
It seems that with the recent batch, many cats were very sick and some died.

I saw that last year. At the same time there are others who have no problems with it so I thought I would try a can. Won't ever buy it again. There is even a FB page of cats getting sick or finding foreign objects in the food in Friskies. But so many here use it with no problems.

My previous kitty had a bad p'titis episode when I gave him FF so I swore I would never use it. These kitties have no problem with it.

I'm glad Ollie is doing better today. I feed my cats Friskies and haven't had any problems. The stories on that link are scary. I hope I don't have any problems.

I hope you don't either. The FB page is really scary and some stories go back a few years (so I didn't put to much into). Page is fairly new but some one went back and posted the older posts about it.

I had no idea there were so many complaints about Friskies. Boomer has been eating Friskies, and loving it, for about a month but has refused some of it since his dental on Friday. I was blaming the dental.
It certainly seems that the Friskies did not agree with Ollie.

Glad to hear Olive is feeling better! I hope it continues & you can get her dose back to normal. I know how frustrating it is when our Kitties go off their food. My 3 are being very picky for several days now & they normally eat Raw.
