I am looking at dosing with calipers, I'm tired of the inconsistently off BD insulin needles. Does anyone have the mm measurements for BD insulin needles, specifically the 3/10ml with 1/2 u markings? I can always try and eyeball the first few times, but these eyeballs need more magnification than they used to :p, so I thought maybe I'd ask in case someone has these mm measurements set up already.

I use a different syringe so I can't help with that, but I bought this magnifying glass that has a small circle of 11X magnification and lights and I now use that with calipers.

Thanks J.J.! Those look nifty, pity they don't ship to Canada, but I'll see if I can find something similar that does ;)

Yes I do; this is what I've been using! I have BD ultrafine II with 1/2 markings 3/10ml!
The 1.5mm as the measure of the one unit was given to me by Wendy and I made up my SS!

Wendy is using those BD also!
Thank you so much Lyane! That's perfect, I knew these syringes have been giving me trouble, I have been giving 1.75u consistently, but when I did a test tonight for his reducie to 1.5u, since I could see that fairly easily, on the calipers it was 2.58. So off just a smidge, these calipers sure are touchy, I'll have to play around a bit, but appreciate the info :bighug:

Mav gets a reducie :). Hope all is well Christie.
Hi Paul! So nice to see you! We are doing really well, and he is just as playful and loving as ever. I should have suspected he would get into lower numbers last night, he zipped up the stairs at around +3 but I didn't test, I thought he must have just had a really good poop and was excited :p , but 50 on AT2 at +4 still came as a surprise. I should know better by now. Super zippy Maverick means he's flying under the hard deck again

How are you and Bronx? Hope he is feeling good these days, any improvement with pain meds for the arthritis?

Most syringes are not precise, since I'm using calipers I will never shoot without! Using calipers is a real dream, you'll love it! You can shrink dosage so easily!
I keep the SS in the calipers case and whenever I change dose, I put the date besides the dose! (if there's a problem with internet, I'm not lost)!
Always make sure to reset them to "0" before setting up your dose!
I'm sure you know all this, but just in case...:) Have fun with your new toy!:p
