Good morning and Happy Mother's Day!
AMPS 319 shooting 2.0u. Dosage will be increased back to 2.25 tonight.

Boomer ate most of his overnight food, leaving about 2 tsp.

Today will be the annual Mother's Day trip to Michigan (Marine City) with DH's family, even though DH's mom is no longer with us.....we figure it will likely be the last time the family gets together on Mother's Day. And of course we have terrible weather; rainy and windy for our 2 hour drive:(:p:rolleyes: We will be leaving late this morning around +4.5.

Today's photo was taken a few days ago at a local pond!

Stay safe while mom and dad are gone, have a wonderful day

But of course! I wonder if you're getting some of the craptastic weather we had yesterday (high winds and varying degrees of rain). I forget where you are though. I love the picture and I hope you and DH have a wonderful trip! Boomer will hold down the fort and I'm sure he'll be happy for the increase tonight! Happy Mother's Day Judy!

Happy Mother's Day Amanda! I'm in London Ontario!

Happy Mothers' Day family gathering, Judy. The weather is terrible here, too! Great picture of Mama Goose and kids.

OT: I showed your photo of the loon to the loon- project office here in Saranac Lake and they think that your loon could be either an immature (who had somehow left the ocean for the lakes too early--i.e., not staying 3 or 4 years in Atlantic coastal waters), or a non-breeding adult (the breeding feather pattern is there, but the head (mottled) and eye (not red, as in breeding loons) are not "right". Another possibility is that the loon was an adult, but still molting into it's breeding feathers and red eye color. The woman I spoke with was most interested in your photograph. What was the body of water where you photographed the loon?

Around the first week in October we look for adult loons "rafting" on Lake Clear (near Saranac Lake), getting ready to migrate to the coastal waters. This is really impressive. We have seen as many as 75 or 100 at a time. You should plan a trip around that time of year in the future!

Hang in there, Deputy Boomer. Your beans will be home soon!

Looks like Boomer was very safe today. Work that increase Boomer!

Trade weather? Could use some rain, first forest fire in the interior of the province. :arghh: Upper 20’s here yesterday, thankfully cooler today.

Your pic reminded me of a scene I saw in the water Thursday night. Bald eagle dive bombing a bunch of Canada Geese babies for dinner.:( Geese parents were very noisy.

Geese can be fierce. Were they able to fend off, or distract, the eagle? Years ago Macy's department store in NY City used geese as night watchmen.

I think so, a bit far to be sure. But the eagle was still in a tree nearby when we left. There were only four babies, which seems low.

The other day I was at our river; there was a Red-Tailed Hawk low in the tree which was a very strange place to find him....I looked around and sure enough Mama and Papa Goose and 4 babies were huddled under the tree. A friend of mine photographed the same hawk in the same location a couple of hours later; he was very persistent!
