Poor Jackson. Maybe he has pancreatitis, maybe something else, but he’s been struggling with painful diarrhea for a couple days. The vet is running some tests and told me to stick to 100% Purina DM in the meantime. This seems like an overpriced poor quality food to me, but it is what he’s used to. He had been getting 50% Tiki cat. What might I try that is an alternative to Purina? I was looking at Tiki cat after dark, and Redbarn.

The vet also recommended pancreatic enzymes. Anyone have any experience with that?

Sorry to hear that poor little Jackson is not feeling well. I'm still new to all of this and don't want to give you bad advice but I've read that plain cooked pumpkin is helpful with diarrhea as well as regulating BM. Make sure its plain with no spices added. You can give a small amount mixed in the his food. You may also want to add a ? To your thread title as it attracts more eyes. Hope the little guy feels better soon.

im not sure if he has [pancreatitis or not or how would this affect it but... I've got great results when my cats had diarrhea when I added FORTI FLORA to their food. it is a probiotic so it will help with all the GI rebalance and re population.
hope it helps.

Update: he is basically back to normal after the first dose of a round of antibiotics. I’m considering trying Redbarn chicken pate as a substitute for the Purina DM, but I won’t change his food for a while.
