Oh I'm sort of use to these drops, he usually drops quite a bit +2 to +3 so nothing really too new for him. Just tested him again +6 and he's in the blue. I check quite a bit and can normally tell from his demeanor how he doing.Hi Jerry and Deirdre,
Not visited before, that's quite a drop back into yellow, he may not be done dropping this morning, will you be able to test him again in the next hour or tow, would be interesting to see how far he goes, of course, he may bounce from a drop like that anyway.
I was reading back through the posts, how are you doing with the dry? have you cut it back some more.
As you are aware the dry will really work against you. Have you been able to discuss trying alternatives with the vet to manage his constipation?
I wanted to share Georges ss with you he got into some biscuits just a couple of weeks ago, he was only just recently back into remission, he soared to yellow, and didn't settle back into normal numbers so I've had to start him back up on some insulin.
I just noticed you're in spain. I'm going to be paying a visit to Ibiza for a wedding in June. Whereabouts are you? Love that we connect from all over the globe.Hi Jerry and Deirdre,

I'm in Granada, the region, about an hour from the city of Granada.I just noticed you're in spain. I'm going to be paying a visit to Ibiza for a wedding in June. Whereabouts are you? Love that we connect from all over the globe.
I haven't had to deal with constipation with BFG, but I know of some other CG that have had to manage this with their kitties, egg yolk I believe can help with motility, as can keeping them well hydrated, you might want to think about adding a little extra water to his wet food.I did discuss this with the vet and asked if Miralax was an option but she didn't seem to think that this worked as well and didn't want me to switch. I think I will anyway as I've got to get his BG's under control and make him feel better. Thank you for checking in, your cat is beautiful.
You're very welcome, BFG says 'Thank you very much'Thank you for checking in, your cat is beautiful.

No not a beach wedding. Its at atzaro agroturismo which looks beautiful. Its an old orange grove estate/hotel. Looking forward to it. I was on Ibiza many moons ago for a beach holiday (I'm originally from Ireland and lived in the Netherlands for 30 years) and really liked it.I'm in Granada, the region, about an hour from the city of Granada.
Ibiza will be beautiful in June, is it a beach wedding?

I'll tag @Bobbie And Bubba as she has some hands on experience with managing constipation.

Jerry is a beautiful panther of a cat too.

Isn't it. I was very happy to see that today. He's a happy chappy today.Nice to see Jerry get back to blue so quickly after the skipped shot yesterday.

Pretty much sounds like our story. We moved back to where my husband is from in Connecticut when he retired. Its a small rural town in the quiet corner. Our two cats Ben and Jerry moved with us. They were also rescues but itty bitty little things when we got them they'd been found on the street and were only about 6 weeks old.Sounds Beautiful, away from the crowds.
Where are you now?
My DH visits Netherlands regularly/Arnhem for work. Haven't been out there in quite a while. We escaped from the hectic southeast of the UK to sleepy Andalusia just about 8 years ago BFG came with us on a BA flight, he's a Battersea rescue.
Well Jerry really drinks a lot and not just due to the diabetes. He's always liked his water. So you just give the miralax in his food. I may need to try that. Thank you.Hey there Deirdre. I have two constipated prone kitties. I give them both egg yolk powder that I get from www.foodfurlife.com twice a day. You start off small and then work you way up to 1/2 tsp twice a day. It also helps with hairballs. Bubba rarely gets one now. Check out their resources. There is a wealth of information there!
I also give miralax daily. Start with 1/4 tsp of miralax twice daily and see how that goes. You might have to tweak it. Also, add water to his food. Bubba does not drink water and he only gets the 1/4 cup that I add to his 6 meals daily.
I put the miralax in the food and add water. I feed 6 mini meals a day and in each meal I add a 1/2 tbsp. of water. So, Bubba is getting almost 1/4 cup of water in his food daily. So you just give the miralax in his food. I may need to try that. Thank you.
Oh sorry, I always add water to his food as well. He is a well hydrated cat. Both of my cats are water obsessed, they demand that I change their water nearly every time I'm in the kitchen. They look at me as if the water on their bowl is stale even if I just changed it 5 mins ago. Lol.I put the miralax in the food and add water.
