Feel so bad, must have hit a vein and didn't squeeze enough after, still bleeding an hour later :(

Went to test an hour after the last test and he had a tiny tiny droplet of blood on his ear, I tried to wipe it off... and it beaded up even bigger... big enough to test with... I didn't have the heart to poke him again, so I used that drop to test... not sure if that matters... probably not because it was technically a new drop after I wiped away the little one that had been there.


Anywayyyy I guess I must have hit a vein?

I have been trying to squeeze the cotton ball, I rip it in half after we poke and squeeze his ear between the two pieces... and it usually works just fine but sometimes he squirms away and I don't like to stress him out by holding him but I always get enough time to squeeze at least a little bit before he takes off lol.

Gonna check it again in a few minutes.

How much is it bleeding? Just a slight ooze or pouring out?
You probably disturbed the tiny clot that had formed when you wiped it away. Try gently holding the ear between two fingers with a piece of cotton wool or a tissue for two minutes. If you have tried that and it doesn’t work, try leaving it (as long as it isn’t bleeding much,) to see if it clots on its own. Once it forms a clot don’t touch it.

Oh yeah I see what you're saying. I assumed the dot i wiped away was fresh blood but you're right it could have been a clot or wiping it could have removed the clot.

No it didn't bleed *too* much really... it was enough to do another test though lol so that made me feel bad but I checked again and no blood anywhere so I feel a little better lol
