Good morning!
AMPS 211 shooting 2.25u

Boomer ate all of his overnight food except for about a tbsp. Last night when we went to bed he slept with me for about an hour then got down and went to his bed....he circled it twice then sat beside it and looked at me. Obviously something was wrong in Boomer's world that he expected me to fix. idk lol but I patted the bed beside me and he came btb. I did see him sleeping in his bed for a while last night but he spent most of the night beside me snoring.

Today (this afternoon at 2:00, +7) is Boomer's visit with Dr Larry. Will do b/w. May do an X-ray because I think Boomer has arthritis. And Boomer has always had a wee bump on the back of his head but lately it's grown so I'll need to have Dr Larry take a look. He'll also need a dental booked. Please send vines!

So....I've been stalking Saunders Pond for a few weeks now hoping to see the Common Loons when they stop on their way north. I was there Saturday around 4:00 and there was nothing there. Around 5:00 that day there was a Loon photographed:rolleyes: it only allowed the photographer one crappy photo then it dove for cover. Yesterday was rainy/windy all day so I didn't go out. This morning is supposed to be miserable weather then it's supposed to clear a bit for the afternoon so I'm hoping either before or after (or possibly both) Boomer's Dr appt I can get to Saunders Pond.

Meanwhile, today's photo is of a couple of Wood Duck drakes that I discovered at a different local pond!

Boomer was a good boy at Dr Larry's. B/w and urine results will be known tomorrow. He has some inflammation around one tooth which I figured he did because it bothers him when I brush his teeth in that one area, so I will be scheduling a dental for him. And he has a little cyst on the back of his neck....he's always had it but it has grown so I was getting concerned. Dr Larry says he can remove it when he's doing the dental.

I also talked to Dr Larry about Boomer's arthritis and he has recomended a drug called cartrophen which is administered sub q. Does anyone here have any experience with Cartrophen?

Boomer, what is with the yellows?

Neko was on Cartrophen, plus two civvies. It is similar the the Adequan used in the US. For horses and dogs, used off label for cats. What do you want to know about it?

Thanks Wendy. Just wanted to make sure it's safe for Boomer to have. Dr Larry has recommended it.

I know lots of people who have had kitties on it for arthritis. For Neko and Theo I got the prefilled syringes from the vet and injected it myself. The vial is too expensive and expires too quickly to be economical for kitty size doses.

Hi Judy, I hope that all will be OK with Boomer's labs. It's good that he will get that dental and that the cyst can be removed at the same time. Gus had a small cyst on the side of his neck that the vet removed at the time of his dental. She didn't think it was worrisome, but thought that if it would grow, it was best to take it out now, while it was small. He had no problems with the surgery and was a really good kitty: totally left the wound alone.

Great pic of the Wood Ducks. How handsome they are!

Good to know. Thanks Wendy!
