Just dropping in to say I haven't forgotten all my friends at FDMB. I think about you all often, and hope everybody is doing well. Still haven't written my Squallie's tribute; it's so hard to do.

I almost adopted another diabetic cat! My kids threatened to kill me, lol. She is a gorgeous Bengal. The only reason I didn't take her is because she doesn't get along with other female cats. I miss the routines of caring for a diabetic; at least two times of every day seem very empty. Some day the right kitty for me will come along...

Oh Lucy, what a very nice surprise! So very good to see you and know that you still think of us here. I still think of you often and hope you are doing well. I laughed so hard a few weeks ago, because Idjit went flying through the house, up the stairs, collided with his litter box (which ended up on its side and litter all over the room) and raced back down the stairs. I told my DH it was IMs and had to explain what that was. Squallie is still with us, right close in our hearts.

Hi Lucy, good to "hear" from you. Too funny on the diabetic bengal. I must admit any diabetic black/white I see has a special pull on my heart strings. You are right though, one day the stars will align and you'll find another purrfect cat.

As for tributes, mine came out on the one year anniversary of Neko's passing. Nothing like a dealine to get me going. We all know you have a huge hole in your heart and this isn't something that can be rushed. Though I must admit that sorting through all my photos for a tribute really helped my pain.

Oh, I’m so glad the IMs are still alive and well! That would make Squallie very happy! I loved your description of Idjit chasing them, brought a real smile to my face (and maybe just a little dampness to my eyes). Squallie was a gift to my life, it does my heart good to think he’s passed on some gifts to others, as well.

Thanks, Wendy. I do try going through Squallie’s pics, but it’s still just too soon. I know the day will come when I am able to handle it without breaking down. I still see and feel him around the house. So does my son, which really surprises me. I like it best when I feel him jump on my bed as I turn out the light and roll over to sleep. I hope that feeling never goes away.

What a nice surprise to see you Lucy. You and Squallie are thought of often. I think my husband would have the same protest as your children if I ever willingly wanted to bring another diabetic kitty into the house.

When the time is right, you will write the perfect tribute for Squallie. As others said, they isn't a deadline for it to be submitted nor is there isn't a timeline for our grief. Hugs

What a treat to hear from you. I also think of you and Squallie often and laughed at the reaction of your kids regarding getting a new sugar kitty. There certainly is no shortage of them. I remember looking at Squallie's all green spreadsheet with amazement- Murphy's is still multi-colored but all in all, he's doing relatively well so I'm not complaining. Miss you, Lucy - big hugs

Hi Jill! Yes, it is still difficult. Sometimes the memories are so sharp, and it hurts me. That’s why I can’t answer everybody at the same time; I have to come back and just do a few at a time.
Squally certainly did have an extraordinary personality, and he was full of love.

So nice to see a post from you. Take your time on the tribute. I can tell you that when you do it, it will be a good experience for you. I found it very healing with each of my cats.

I know what you mean about the diabetic cat you thought about adopting. I am so tempted to apply for Tiny Kittens' Stanley, but Mark and I are having such fun travelling with our two babies and it just wouldn't be a good idea with a special needs cat like Stan, so I stifle the feelings every time they show up. One day I bet we'll both have an other FD cat, and it will be a purrfect match.
