MAKE IT GREAT.jpg

I thought of your hawk situation when I read this. I have seen a hawk swoop down and grab a dove in our back yard. I wouldn't let The kitties out until the threat moves on!

April 2 (UPI) -- An Arizona puppy is recovering after being carried away by an owl and apparently dropped on a local golf course. Bonnie Ziegler, who is fostering the puppy, named Latte, and her three siblings for Foothills Animal Rescue, said the canine vanished during a bathroom break in her yard. "I didn't hear a sound and the other puppies didn't bark. It was as if she just vanished," Ziegler told KPHO/KTVK. "We immediately started searching and soon our neighbors joined in. We posted a notice on the Nextdoor [app] in the hopes someone might find her." Latte turned up about 12 hours later at the Troon Country Club, suffering from dehydration and puncture wounds. Veterinarians said the wounds answered the mystery of the puppy's disappearance -- she had been grabbed and carried off by an owl. Latte is recovering from her injuries and is expected to be in foster care for a few more weeks before going up for adoption.

Hope Peggy Sue is eating and doing ok :bighug:. Raven is looking great :D

I hope Ravan surfs green for you today and Peggy Sue keeps eating. I'd be very careful about the hawk too. It scares me to think the hawk might get your cats.

I had a bad feeling when Ravan started leaking urine yesterday. I think the reduction to .25 was way too soon. He's up to 280 & I feel sick! He hasn't been this high in nearly a month.:(
He's eating & acting OK I think it was way too fast a reduction. I don't know why he dropped into 30's but he obviously isn't anywhere near remission. It feels like starting all over again.

You did what you needed to...took the dose back up. You might find that 0.25u increase might be too much so if he does this again (drops into 30s, you reduce 0.25u), I’d just fatten the dose.

but he obviously isn't anywhere near remission
Your goal should be regulation first, don't jump ahead of yourself. He seems to do better when regulated too. Today was only one cycle of bad numbers. The last reduction was only 4 cycles after the previous one. There could have been a bit of the 0.75 unit dose helping him get to the 30's. Hopefully he'll do better on 0.5 units this time, and that higher depot is gone now.

Sorry, I'm just seeing this now.
I really can't add much to what Marje and Wendy have said. I know all too well how hard it is to watch... sometimes Alex's dose would go from less than a half unit of insulin to a unit or more within days. And it didn't stop there. She'd bobble up and down every time she'd have a p-titis flare. Those seemed to pop up without warning. Just ride this out. Give him whatever insulin he needs. You've taken the dose back up. Let's see what happens.

Just curious...
Has anything changed in the last week? You recently mentioned something about the amount of CBD drops changing. Was that over the past week? What about other supplements? Any changes? I'll look for your reply tomorrow. Get some rest tonight!

about the amount of CBD drops changing.

I increased the CBD at the beginning of March. I felt his BG really started to come down when I increased. Now I just don't know. He's acting normal Good mood, Eating OK.That's why I didn't expect this.

Your goal should be regulation first

I'm not the one that suggested Remission. I had no expectations of him going into remission.
I was told a while ago that because of his #'s he was considered regulated. I was surprised to hear that

I know it's disheartening when their numbers go back up; I've been there a few times! He had two reducies that were very close together...but he had earned the first one by being green and he earned the second one with the low number (although I think the low number was depot action from the previous dose). I see you raised to .5 last night (sorry, I didn't see the tag until this morning) so hopefully he will do better on this dose!
