? PMPS Shot Time NOW — Dosing Advice Needed

I have too many questions for a quick answer. What method are you using for dosing? Can you monitor tonight? Do you have plenty of test strips and high carb food around? Have you fed yet? If not, then don't.

Hi Wendy! Thank you for your response.

Haven't nailed down a method yet, but am having success w/ consistent testing.

I can monitor tonight.

Yes and yes.

He took 2 bites of low carb before I took the food way.

If he was at 174, you can go ahead and shoot the scheduled dose of .75

It also looks like you may be basing your dose on the Pre-shot numbers. Lantus dosing is based on how low it takes them, not the Pre-shot number.

Any time you get a Pre-shot you're not sure about, it's best to stall, don't feed and then test again in 20-30 minutes to see if the number comes up without the influence of food, but we usually shoot anything over 150 here (and then as you gather more data and experience, you learn to shoot lower and lower numbers)

It's always a good idea to get a +1 and +2 when you shoot a lower than usual number just so if you need to intervene, you can do it early

On this forum, we use two dosing methods, the Tight Regulation protocol and the Start Low Go Slow method. With both of those, we continuously shoot the same dose. We only change the dose if a reduction is earned, or an increase is needed. That said, I think it's safe to shoot tonight, but I have no idea what dose to recommend. You shot a lower number a couple nights ago, but a lower dose and he just went up. If you are up for a night of possible monitoring, you could try 0.75 units.

Hi. I know your freaking out now but when ya get a chance you need to fix the frozen columns as the AMPS bg numbers are not fully readable and your missing the units dose column for morning. If your not sure how to someone else can help you when you give the person access to edit the spreadsheet.

Otherwise. Chris & Wendy are great helpers.
I am around if needed just pm Chris

@everyone,

Thank you all so much for your responses. <3

I just tested him and he is 250...

@Darnell & Sprocket (GA) , I will look at the sheet and try to fix.

@Wendy&Neko , understood.

@Chris & China (GA) , can you clarify what you mean by +1 and +2?

+1 means the 1st hour after your shot time.
+2 means the 2nd hour after shot time.
and so on.
We do this because everyone is in different time zones as we have members from all over the world here.
