Still a little higher than I'd like to see, but lower than yesterday. Yesterday's curve shows that he's still dropping into the greens a good part of the day. I thought I got a reading last night after his PM test, but either I forgot to write it down or I forgot to get it altogether. I'll have to check the meter and update the SS when I get a chance.

I'm trying not to get too excited - I'm just not happy with his numbers the last few days. We'll see how he does in the next day or so, but he may still need just a little bit of insulin support to keep him in healthy numbers. If so, it's not the end of the world - this is a trial to see if he's ready to be off of insulin, and if he's not ready, I'm happy to keep giving shots until he is.

In either case, I appreciate the support! :bighug:

Vets “normal” reading for non diabetic cats is 80-120 and can go higher after food. I know there is a variance with human meters and we use a slightly lower range for optimal numbers, but those numbers still look very good. Don’t be discouraged.

I've read conflicting information, making it hard to be completely confident. Certainly his vet thinks he should be off the insulin. His numbers are definitely dropping mid-cycle, so I'm concerned that if I did give insulin, even just a drop, they could drop too low mid-cycle before we could get the AM & PM numbers in the green. So we'll continue with the trial and see how he does. :D
