Can someone check Ramon's SS (Human Meter) and advise me on what dosage to give at PM? I've been running his dosage up every few days to try to get on top of his glucose resistance and bring his numbers down. Suddenly today they are way down and his +5 was 51 (and I rechecked it right away on the other ear and that read 44). I'll be monitoring until he starts back up but I have already given him some hi-carb kibble treats even before the 51/44 readings!. His only symptom today was a worsening of his hind leg weakness (had trouble jumping up onto something) otherwise he's eating and perky. Do I continue to give the higher dosage (3.8) or do I drop it? @Djamila ? @Kris & Teasel ? @Rachel ? Anyone?

Anytime they drop below 50, it's time to reduce......I know you got a 51 but you also got a 44 so I'd drop the dose to be safe.
Thanks for the reply. His BG is still reading 51 at +7 despite me giving him a really good amount of hi-carb kibble. Nothing goes as expected with this cat and his blood sugar.

For future reference.... Kibble take much longer to be absorbed than wet food, so if you have low numbers, giving a high carb wet food will bring the numbers up quicker than kibble. Always make sure you have some high carb wet food and some honey in your cupboard in case of low numbers.
