Is she having an ultrasound?

The Blood work & exam cost me nearly $300. I have no idea what an ultrasound & biopsy would cost?

If an ultrasound showed something, the vet said he'd need to do a biopsy to know if it's cancer. Then what?

Right now she won't take "anything" with a feeding syringe. She cries & fights me. Then hides all day. I don't want her (and me) to be that stressed out.
Last summer she had high liver enzymes & Milk Thistle brought them down. She took the Milk Thistle with baby food in a syringe. No problem. I don't know why she's fighting it now?

I've tried all the tricks I know. She just really doesn't want it.:(

I've been giving her Sub Q Ringers to hopefully flush out toxins. To my surprise she ate a bit of her raw meat diet this morning. ( the CBD oil helps when she won't eat) I was so Happy I cried! (doing a lot of that lately.)

All 3 of my Kitties have health problems. They are all the same age, nearly 17. Even if I could afford it I would still not want them stressed out & hiding from me.

Trying to take one day at a time! Sometimes that's difficult!

Thanks for checking on us :):bighug:

Nice green cycle Ravan! I hope Peggy Sue will eat some more. I know where you’re at with your babies. My vet calls my house the animal senior citizen center.

He's been getting some unusual low bg On 3/18 he had a 47 at +3 pm

Right now shot is due. Was at 41 +8. 50 at +10 dropped to 47 pmps I'll check again in 15 mins

38 at 9:45 gave him 15% carbs will test again in 15 mins.
10 pm 40

When is 9:45 in relation to Preshot time? That 38 means a reduction for sure, but you want him safely above 50 before shooting. Not influenced by carbs.

@Wendy&Neko

It's an hour after shot time & he did come up to 58 but that's from a tablespoon of 15% carbs
I really hate to skip He's been doing so good lately. I think I was told a while ago it's better to skip than to lower the dose just to shoot?

You have two choices. Either skip or delay. The delay is to wait until his numbers are above 50, either after the carbs have worn off, about two hours. Or keep testing every half hour until you see his numbers start to zoom up. Then your shot time in the AM will be 12 hours later.

Don’t shoot even a lower dose below 50.

To answer the question above, a general ultrasound could set you back $300-400. Lower end fewer organs being scanned. An endoscopy is quite a bit more. If they found a mass, they would likely do a ultrasound guided fine needle aspirate, which is cheaper. An endoscopy needs anesthesia, which adds to the costs.

Thanks for the ultrasound info. I love my kitties but it's not something i can afford & if they find cancer?

I skipped Ravan's shot. I hope he gets back to good BG quickly Do I go back to 1.25 (I was giving a tiny bit more 1.25+ I borrowed calipers & have been using them for about a week)) or do I reduce to 1 unit tomorrow amps?

If you look at his SS he hasn't been "zooming" up Staying pretty level. (finally)

Busy night! Difficult to get his BG to stay above 50 Gave 20% carbs 3 times. I will not feed for 4 hrs till shot amps.
The amps from yesterday can affect readings for 3 cycles.I hope his amps today isn't low.

Sorry to miss your tag....I wasn’t on the board last night.

I’m glad you skipped because shooting after feeding more than LC food can result in numbers quickly coming back down and you fighting low numbers all night. It was better to be cautious as you were.

Many vines for Peggy Sue...I know you are really worried.
