Hi everyone, Willow's not doing so great I think. She started out yesterday good, and had good poops overnight and through the day. Then I gave D-mannose last night, and she's having diarrhea again (see notes in SS please) and vomited overnight (but maybe because she was grooming poop off herself? )

Hubby and I discussed her BSL last night and thought maybe it would be best to hold off increasing dose again until she straightened out a bit, since she's so up and down lately, but I don't know if her reduction failed. And I know we don't base dose on preshots, but this was seriously the highest preshot in a long, long time. I don't know what to do about anything.

She just got her baytril this morning, I stop her clearlax when she's having liquid poos, and she got her SEB as normal yesterday and last night. Would love any advice.

Hope you and your kitties are all doing well, and wish you a day of safe surfing! With love,Nikki

If Willow is not eating consistently, I would not increase the dose. I hope she feels better soon and the D-Mannose helps. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Willow's SS looks so good! Drives you crazy when one thing is good something else pops up!:banghead:

Did Willow have an ultrasound to check her bladder & kidneys ( Ultrasound may be useful for helping your doctor to see the kidneys and the bladder and identify abnormalities, such as blockages in the urinary tract or other potential causes of hematuria. )

I'm always concerned that different meds can interact & cause nausea & loss of appetite.I feel less is always better. Our kitties are small creatures & nearly all drugs are tested on dogs not cats. Something might work for one cat & make another one sick.
I see you stopped the Clavaseptin. I read it's side effects are "Diarrhea, loss of appetite & nausea. You never know how all the meds are going to react in a kitties small body?

My Peggy Sue ( Ravan's sister) has high liver enzymes.(I just had lab work) She's hardly eating getting very thin. Last summer I gave her Milk thistle This time she's struggling, hiding from me.I won't force her. I read the stress will shorten her life. Vet said it might be Liver cancer. I won't put her thru surgery she's nearly 17 yrs old.

I do give her SEB as a liquid to coat her stomach,in a feeding syringe. It's the one thing she will take without fussing. It does seem to help. She eats a bit in an hour after I give it to her.

Sending Positive thoughts & energy that Willow gets better.:bighug:

Is Willow getting any probiotics? Sometimes ABs can harm the tummy flora, causing digestive upset. Though licking herself clean might actually out some of those bacteria back in her.:blackeye: Sending healing vines for you little girl. :bighug:

I tended to hang onto doses giving me nadirs in the 70’s. Let’s see what she does in the next few days. The larger depot should be gone, so you are seeing what this dose can do.

Hi @JoyBee&Ravan , yes an ultrasound would probably be next if we can't get her UTI cleared. I tend to keep as "natural" as possible, but also am comfortable reaching for "conventional" if I feel it's necessary.
I'm sorry to hear about Peggy Sue...will she not take ground milk thistle seed mixed in her food? I'm lucky in that Willow will readily eat much mixed in her food, and I can sometimes cover the more undesirable by adding pumpkin (a favorite). Or maybe an alcohol-free extract slipped in her food , or into tuna water?
With love, Nikki

Hi @Wendy&Neko , I've got probiotics on order, will be here this week...she's feeling much better this afternoon/evening, and her numbers have dropped into a "happier" nadir for me lol. (I was worried it was an upward trend...4.6/ 4.8/ 5.4...lol) Thanks :) With love, Nikki
