Buddy 2/3 AMPS 294; PMPS 476 (Now on Pred)

So, Mr. Buddy had a pretty bad nosebleed on Thursday. Had a bit of blood when I went to work and was much worse when I came home but it did finally stop. No impact on his appetite or behavior. No blood on Friday.

Took him to the vet yesterday. He is still at the same weight we has 3 weeks ago (7.9 pounds) and had no fever. Vet said he thinks the blood was actually from some rhinitis not the lymphoma. He did decide maybe it was time to go ahead and start him on a low dose of prednisolone.

He was down to 178 this afternoon at +6 but, while I was away, my son told me Buddy got on the counter, opened the toaster oven, and drug out the rack with pizza my son was cooking pizza on. When Nathan came in the kitchen, the rack was on the floor and Buddy and my dog were chowing down on some Papa John's. He has no idea how much Buddy ate since the dog was also part of the act!

I'm hoping this little episode is the reason for the 476 - not the pred. I know the pred will probably cause an increase but I am hoping not that high.

I think I need to muzzle Buddy between feedings. It's either keep him locked in one room or constantly battle him trying to get to anything he can possibly find to eat.

Well, the image of Buddy and the pizza gave me a much needed chuckle! We had a member here years ago who's cat would snatch waffles out of the toaster.

Also, the pred will increase his appetite - something I'm sure you wanted to know.
